My Anti Steroid Rant

I’ve never quite understood why the topic of steroid usage should be so emotionally charged. Unnatural? Why? Because introducing more of substances (i.e. testosterone) that your body produces on its own anyway is unnatural? Then creatine use is every bit as unnatural. The only difference is in degree and not kind, with steroids having greater risks and greater payoffs.

The use of stuff like antibiotics for infections and those funky new synthetic carbohydrates for PWO should be considered even more unnatural, if we’re sticking to that logic.

Cheating? Why? Because taking steroids means you can sit back and watch the muscles grow? Crap, think of all the productive stuff Ronnie Coleman could have been doing instead of wasting his time training.

Illegal? That only goes for the USA. It’s also a moot point when you guys argue about health, unnatural-ness and cheating.

Health issues? I don’t see anyone getting that worked up over cigarettes, alcohol and wayward cars. If steroids are that bad, I guess we better hurry and tell the doctors who are using steroids to treat all sorts of diseases and for HRT.

Those same incompetent doctors who claimed that the big buff young guys who fell over dead were abusing painkillers, diuretics and recreational drugs when they actually all died from steroids. It’s all true, I read it in the tabloids.

I’ve also never understood why some people would read a couple of news articles with big, sciency sounding words and come charging into discussions like they have years of practical or research experience. If all you know about steroids and myostatin is what you read in the papers, you know jack shit.

All you roid guys are the same. I get approached by you regularly. You wanna save a few bucks on your cycle, so what do you do, you hunt down that scrawny kid at the gym and push your shit on them hiding behind your health claims.

You say I’m undeducated, do some research on myostatin. “higher concentrations of myostatin in the body cause the individual to have less developed muscles” This is the limiting factor in a lot of people, not test or gh levels. There are a few drug companies trying to create an inhibitor of myostatin, when this comes out it will make your steroids look like creatine. Then what?

See you Thursday, I’ll be working 2-11.

Thanks
So you are using myostatin as an excuse for your welter-weightness?

Does that mean that you will get on the myostatin-blockers/inhibitors once they become viable?

Why - I think you have graduated from jeoulous, hate-filled twink-boy to hypocritical, jealous, hate-filled twink-boy.

It must be fun living with mom, and passing judgment on those you know nothing about.

I think I found our problem right here:

You do realize genius that Biotest has already had a myostatin supplement that has come and gone?

I dont claim to know EVERYTHING about steroids but I know that being against them is just plain stupid!

What would happen if you was on the operating table and your only chance of recovering from LIFE-SAVING surgery was with the use of a steroid?

Hmmmm…Would you say ‘No thanks doctor, I care about my family and friends but I would rather die than be injected with a steroid that would prolong my life’.

I can see your heart monitor now…

I’ve made plenty of gains naturally. At the beginning of the year I deadlifted 3.5x my body weight. That’s the good thing about this sport, you can use your genetics to your advantage in certain lifts, instead of trying to mask your genetics with a bunch of drugs to reach an unnatural weight, then lose it all when you get off it.
Unnatural weight? Well, shit. I didn’t know I had to register with the body weight board to be told what weight was unnatural. So the fat guy I work with (~300 lbs, 5’6"), is he natural or unnatural? And lose it when you get off it? You lose it when you stop lifting, “natural” or “unnatural.”

Never having taken steroids, nor convincing others to use them, how can you say this about me? Look, kid. Once upon a time, I thought like you. Then I did a little investigating. I found out the truth. My thinking changed. Why don’t you do yourself a favor, and:

 1. stop talking
 2. learn what steroids do and don’t do
 3. apologize to the people that know what they’re doing, as they did not do anything to warrant unsolicited attacks by someone that doesn’t know jack.

Let me reiterate: steroids quicken recovery time. That’s it! They do not grow muscles.

What’s your stance on estrogen blockers? How about Test boosters? They all do the same thing. They manipulate your body, creating optimum conditions to do what comes natural. Build muscle.

And by the way, what does your dead lift have anything to do with building muscles? Dude, grow up.

Don’t you mean, it’ll create more greenhouse gasses and we’ll all go extinct???

Aww, come on now…not this again!!

Just kidding…LOL.

But yes, steroids also create more greenhouse gases…altered beast will back me up on that I’m sure. He seems to be an expert on the issue and his scienftific arguments seem very sound.

In fact, steroids are responsible for most of the worlds faults and evils. I think we can all agree on that…

of course, science has also shown that steroids are REALLLLLLLLYYYY dangerous, hasn’t it?? I mean, we ALL see guys dropping dead on the street from this stuff right??

And those bodybuilders that died, I mean, their deaths were unequivocly linked to steroids, right?

(note to self: I should try to be less sarcastic)

Altered Beast shhhhhhhhh daddys working. I know it has been stated but steroids are healthy, if you have ever had your nads not function and not produced enough test, it’s hell. Supplementing test only made me more grounded, tolerant, social. All the material out there shows little proof steroids are harmfull. Try pub med. Or I dunno…maybe the “interweb”

Men with low test have bones that break easier, they have more heart disease…really, just do some research. I could go on and on but there are a lot smarter people on here to explain things for you if you just can’t do the research.

Can we say Roid-Rage?

You guys are getting on Altered Beast like he’s a cop going after you.

Anyway, it’s nice to know that you guys feel great taking it, but how old are you?

This is a serious question, is there any body older then 45 who has taken steriods in their 30’s and 20’s with input?

It is easy to say its great while your taking it, but you can’t see the future. On the other hand the media just goes along with whatever is “Right”. I would like to know how real people out there feel.

Another question has anybody taken it, then stopped for a year? Did you experience any strength loss even if you kept lifting?

we’re on his case because he came to a forum of steroid users and accused us of ignorance, pushing drugs to susceptible youngsters, stupidity and of taking the easy way out… he was asking for this response

I know plenty of juicers who are 40+ and still juice. Dont seem to be dropping dead to me.

Actually, I did a few cycles (2on4off scheme) a while back but had to stop due to financial issues. I stopped for 10 months. I actually maintained the bodyweight (still ate a ton of cals) Eventually though, I did look a good bit softer than when I juiced so I’m guessing I lost muscle. Still kept much of the strentgh though.

now that I am juicing again I would probably say that I am healthier than when I was on a break. I have lost a helluva lot of visceral fat since I went back on…feel better, breathe better, look better, feel WAY more confident, more alert…and I’m in a much better mood.

I’m doing much better at work and am much more productive. My long term GF broke it off with me a while back and to be honest, I was in a pretty shitty mood for a length of time… since I’ve gone back on, my “depression”(mild enough) is all gone (I attribute this to the self confidence I have gained)…nothing helps self confidence like random girls asking if they can rub your chest or arms…lol

Although I have not gotten blood drawn I would imagine my blood lipid levels are a lot better than when I was carrying much more fat.

People can piss and moan about the negative effects of juice. The fact is though, for many people it gives them a quality of life they would not otherwise experience…used properly, you can avoid the negatives and enjoy the best of both worlds …like me

Not even going to address “Roid-Rage”

Umm I’m 46 juiced in my early 30s and quit for 9 years.I have now been consistently using aas for 4 years…your point?

The best point was made in Celtics last post “Quality of Life”

Airtruth…or whatever you name is, roid rage. Again do some research, you want to see rage, catch any guy with low test levels and high e2 and thats what you will get.

Those guys you see that get into trouble while juicing are usually dicks in the first place…I really don’t know as much as the rest of the guys on this board but please do some reading before posting this kind of crap.

You’re proving my rudeness point.
bushidobadboy wrote:
I bet you wear matching socks, comb your hair, and shave your face. Why? for vanity surely as technically your job, etc don’t ‘require’ that you do so.
Not so much actually. All of my socks are the same. I am a bit insane like that. However I don’t shave often, and no I don’t comb my hair, and no I’m not bald. My hairs a good 3 1/2-4 inches (I need a haircut).

I agree with you on second part. Looking past BS is very important.

You must be one prideful man. I hope that works out for you.
I am and it does, but thank you for being polite about your points. I know one thing, I have learned things from my rant/this thread. Steroid use it actually more prevalent then I thought. Its less dangerous then smoking, drinking, or driving a car. Maybe I’ll start once I go bald, then I won’t have anything to worry about.

Rfish and Jbdd, Personally my definition of Roid Rage is too Juiced up to be able to take a joke.

Celtic Devil thanks for answering my question, so basically what I’m taking from what you said is that knowing everything you know about nutrition training and roids, you would do it all over again.?

How would you rate your use compared to what other people(if you know of any)

So when you see specials on TV do you think those are unlucky cases, examples of overuse, or just glorifying the negative aspects.

wait…ok. How do you keep a dog from humping your leg???
