My 3/4 Velocity Diet, Not on Purpose

So I’ve been attempting to ingest the proper amount of protein for my weight for the last month or two… I realized that I am basically on a toned down Velocity Diet.

Yea not the Velocity Diet lite, this is close to the original.

Basically to get the proper 1g protein/body weight I am drinking 4-5 shakes a day and 1-2 solid meals a day…

BW as of this AM: 259.8lbs

Supplements: HOT-ROX Extreme, Fish Oil, Protein

Daily diet:

2 Eggs, Slice of Cheese, 2 pieces whole wheat toast

4 protein shakes @ 54 g protein, 6 g carbs, 300 cal each

Dinner varies… Chicken, steak, ground beef… with greenbeans or corn.

My shakes alone put me at 216-270 g protein, for 4-5 respectively…

Why am I posting all of this?

Weight.

I started in January at 270, with a training program 4x week and a similar diet with less protein… I’ve now been on this exact diet for about 2 months and have only dropped 10.2 lbs?

My strength has increased, but my body has not seemingly decreased in size…

Kick it up a notch and go full force V-Diet? or Keep working it for another month (end of March) and see where I’m at then break out the sledgehammer.

Help!

I wouldn’t suggest the V-Diet.

I would suggest learning how to eat for life (you know that meat has protein in it too right?). Yes the V-Diet can help modify changes in taste but you really need to just learn how to eat.

this involves learning how to grocery shop, having the appropriate foods cooked and prepared ahead of time (you can’t go to the kitchen 8 times a day can you?), and learning what to eat.

Not just replacing your diet with shakes. The V-Diet is a tool and should be used appropriately. Long term, you need to learn how to eat.

Fuck it, what the hell do I care, if you want to do the V-Diet go ahead, just don’t start a log, ok?

I’m not replacing my meals with shakes, I’m shooting for 260g Protein a day… can’t get that off eating meat alone.

why not? meat is good. there is a lot of protein in meat. 6 oz. of ground beef is about 40 grams of protein. etc. Fitday will tell you exact amounts! I would choose real foods over supplements any day.

Using the one I found, its 30g of protein, and 450 Calories…

or I can get 54 g of protein and 300 calories from a shake…

I just don’t see the logic in trying to maintain a caloric deficit by getting 23% of my protein and 50% of my calories in 1 meal.

you can’t get 260g of protein from food? What the hell have I been doing?

6 eggs - 36g
3 x 8oz. chicken - 150g
2 x 8oz. lean beef - 90g
Total: 276, this would be my cutting diet on an off day from the gym (notice no protein powders). If I have a prebed shake add another 46, PWO shake add another 31.that’s over 340 (counting shakes).

Quit making excuses and learn to eat.
