Dunno, dude, doesn’t seem like they are going back all that much.
My parents and grandparents did (they are Turks), my best friends parents did (they are Bangladeshi), me ex girlfriends parents did (they are Pakistani). Those are just the ones I recall. It may be different in your neck of the woods but in my experience and observation it has mostly been the case. Of course, the crappy London weather might also have motivated them to leave too ![]()
Yeah, I know a couple of ppl who went back, most of them stay, have a few kids (who almost never go to their parents’ homeland) which is the primary reason why their population is growing. Just look up European demographics you’ll see the tendency there. It’s not as pronounced in the States (yet).
Saw it in the news somewhere - second (I think) most popular name for newborns in the UK is Mohammed.
Its all fine unless, of course, they all have “low opinions” of the West, which is the vibe I’m getting from these folks as well.

I believe that most muslims are of the attitude that “evil begets evil” and that while there are many, many innocent victims of the attacks, America/the West/Capitalism (whichever or whoever is being blamed by said group) has brought these things on itself by it’s own actions. [/quote]
There are plenty of Americans who aren’t Muslims who feel the same way. I mean, how many politicians have said we need to lessen our dependence on Middle East oil because less involvement will mean a decrease in terrorism? Even that nutjob Glenn Beck said that 9/11 was the result of our foreign policy in the ME. I think a distinction needs to be made between someone supporting the attacks on the US and someone placing part of the blame on the US. If you start to think simplistically like, “they attack us because they hate us,” without actually asking why they hate us (“because of our freedom” makes no sense BTW) you will never be able to come close to solving the problem.

I think that this is very, very true.
