Muscle Up's

Tried this the other day…very difficult. I only got 2…Seems like a great alternative to the Olympic Lifts…mind you, no lower body involved.

looks like the video was speeded up,or it could be the severe lack of sleep.

Yeah,they’re hard,but cool to do.

And to think, those are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to gymnastics. Eep!

I’ve heard them be compared to the clean and Jerk. The comparison is that the clean and Jerk is the most efficient way to get a heavy weight over your head, while a muscle-up is the most efficient way to get your body over a bar/rings/ledge.

The guy in the video was using a little more kip than I prefer to use, but he did do an impressive number of consecutive reps. That’s one reason I like using rings instead of a bar; it allows for less kipping.
