My max for barbell curl and overhead press are both 45kg. Is this a large muscle imbalance? I have been training for a few months.
That is a bit odd, what does your training look like?

Yes. Stop doing full-body curls.
Spend a couple years working out consistently, learn as much as you can, then see what happens.
Nice username.

You’re likely not yet strong/ muscled enough to have any real imbalances yet (I also wouldn’t max curls) since you’ve been training just months. Are you following a program?

Here’s a chart from Thib Army, for upper body strength, based off bench.
- 2 – Upper Body Strength Balance
Reference Lift: Bench Press
- Close-Grip Bench Press: 90% of bench press
- Push Press: 85% of bench press
- Incline Bench Press: 80% of bench press
- Military Press (standing, strict): 60% of bench press or 75% of push press
- Weighted Dip: 105% of bench press (bodyweight included)
- Supinated Chin-Up: 90% of bench press (bodyweight included)
- Chest-Supported Barbell Row (torso parallel): 70% of bench press
- Preacher Curl: 40% of bench press
- Standing Reverse Curl: 35% of bench press
The bench press as the universal unit of measurement is pretty fitting.
