The fuck is this?
LOL. On a bodybuilding website no less.

Some of the people here are truly fucking retarded.

He was pasting an excerpt from the article ID linked, which is one of the more biased pieces I’ve ever read on bodybuilding.

Then I retract my “retard”.

Yes. Apologies for posting that article. My point was only to show that the Titus case wasn’t the only one within our sport. A better article wouldn’t have called out BBers as loonies, but only that the violent actions in these cases only represent a cross section of society in general.

Oh, and by the way, F*ck Jay Cutler.

lol

Wait, so the stuff they were saying about Jay being the only one to ever lose the title and then regain it isn’t true then?
Arnold never lost. He just didnt compete the years he didnt win.
It is true. Arnold never lost the title. He retired after the 75 Olympia and then came back in 1980 to compete one last time.

Others won from 76 - 79 but he didn’t lose, he just didn’t compete.

Nuts. Looks like my edit didn’t go through. Let’s try again.

I see. So Arnold never competed and lost, like Jay lost to Dexter in '08. I assume the same happened with Franco? He just didn’t compete between his two wins?

I’m fairly new to following bodybuilding as a sport. Guess I need to read up on my history.

Except he didn’t cite the source, which may have precluded the previous exchange.

So he gets ‘half-retard’ for that failure.

Another gem from that article; “he was a buff 298 pounds, with 2% body fat” referring to James Batsel . And this guy never won an Olympia? What a shame lol

The Olympia has been controversial since the 70s. And considered a joke by many since then. Zane over Robinson? Over Mentzer? Arnold over A few guys in 1980? Franco over Callender, Platz and Padilla in 1981? After that I stopped caring, back when I was 18.
Well, you are right about those. Robinson got screwed his entire career…even by Weider!

Why the hell did they hate his afro so much?
I’ll put out a few random guesses. Marketing based racism. They wanted a white Mr. O and Robby looked to scary. Zane looked like a guy that people could relate to. An achievable physique.

Which could be weenie based marketing with no racism. Or the gay thing. Ben Weider was know to be gay and who knows?

Maybe Robby was abrasive, maybe Ben liked Zane better, more his type? This was also the time Muscle Builder Power changed to Muscle and Fitness. Maybe they wanted a certain direction that Robby didn’t fit.

It was BS to me. It turned me off to bodybuilding just about permanently. How you could bust your hump and get screwed was not my thing. I powerlift and I know if I made a lift or not.

Then when Arnold and Franco won again it just sealed the deal.
