Most pain is about intensity, not length. The question wasn’t the most monotonous pain.

This is pain. And no it is not my hand.

Self Inflicted: Any sprint race I’ve competed in for rowing.
Not self-inflicted: Tearing ligaments in my ankle during lacrosse game.
Self inflicted that would of hurt had I been sober: Tearing 3 tendons and 5 ligaments in my wrist after spearing someone through a dorm window and falling 2 floors.

Jesus dude. You’d think from this list you would look like Quasimodo or something. Haha. And there I was talking about my broken finger. hahaha

I can’t compare to most of this shit on here.

 1. Inflamed nerve/vein in my testicles. This felt like I was getting kneed in the groin every time I moved. I suffered the stomach pain and vomit temptations for 3 days while I waited for this to go away. If my boxers even grazed my nuts I thought I was going to hurl. Jerking off actually helped the situation. Ended up getting an ultrasound of my nuts and hanging out in the hospital for a few days. All I needed was a heavy dose of Ibuprofen.

Holy shit dude. Thats absolutely horrifying. Probably not nearly as painful as some of the crazy stuff on this thread, but is one of the scariest.

Thanks for helping me remember this.

Had gum surgery early one morning in high school. They cut a strip of skin off the roof of my mouth and sewed it on to my gum line. The problem was that the local wore off and it started to hurt bad. They told me to take the pain meds they had prescribed. But we had forgotten to get them and the pharmacy didn’t open for an hour. So I laid on the bed with my entire mouth (and eventually my entire head) throbbing like a heart beat.

Compared to some of the folks on this thread, I’ve gotten off easy though.

HOLY CRAP!

You can see the bone in his hand!

Crushed in a car–“accordioned”

Fractures of tibia, fibula, femur (comminuted), clavicle, ripped tendons from both forearms and hands.
–But worse than that, urinary retention. 2 liters hurts.
–But worse than that, duodenal hematoma (I think). 2 months during which the smell of food caused back-breaking pain for 15 minutes, without any relief by medicine.

I can’t really compete with any of the intense pain in her so i’m not even gunna try… the most frustrating pain i’ve had was insertion of a catheter, but also the post catheter need to pee more than you ever have before in your entire life but cannot squeeze a drop for eternity feeling

few months ago I had to go to the clinic to have my left ear “irrigated” . for anyone who doesnt know what that is…they spray some liquid into your ear , trying to loosen ear-wax to get it to come out . a nice lookin nurse comes in and proceeds with the job . Im feeling friendly and doing my best to get her talking , considering the circumstances , whan all of a sudden this burnt brown chunk of ear wax slides out of my ear canal , bounces off my shoulder and falls to the ground . damn things a good 3/8ths of an inch long…looked like a charcoal grilled pencil eraser .

not the kind of pain you meant…but it still hurt

 1. Broke my collarbone doing stupid gymnastics on my friends 30 degree downhill frontyard. Somehow miscalculated the angle. Slow motion carrrrr-unch. I was sweating and delirious for about 24 hours with the pain.

 2. Wore my immune system down with lots of stress and managed to get shingles for 6 weeks. It was so bad before I was diagnosed I really thought I was on my way out. I kept telling myself…just get up and try to get my affairs in order…then realized I could probably only make it to the file cabinet and remove a few choice files and drop them on the floor for my loved ones to find. It least they wouldn’t have to go searching for the stuff. Four weeks of ridiculous pain, then two weeks of annoying pain. No wonder the suicide rate amoung older people with shingles is quite high.

Severe Gout Attack. Roar.

Im 23 and must be the luckiest guy on this site (hope i’m not tempting fate), the worst pain i’ve ever had is either toot ache, sorre throat, a couple of cuts here and there. No broken bones, no real hospitalisations, no diseases, no tears of anything. No dislocations, no car crashes no accidents, am pretty fuckin lucky really.

When I was 13 I guess, I was sprinting with all my speed down a field barefoot, about halfway down my left foot hit the remains of a cut-down tree partially hidden by grass, I kicked it so hard I felt the impact travel all the way to my groin, I tumbled down a good distance and when I look at my foot all I see is a big bloody mess with broken nails and tree barks everywhere.

Had to limp my way home, clean it, put some ice, and wait until my mother was back home from work to take me to a doctor. It took about 3 hours. Four broken fingers, all fingernails gone, tree barks pieces buried almost 1 inch under my toenail, sprayed ankle and severely broken metatarsus.

I was kicked in the shoulder by a donkey/horse when I was a little kid (can’t remember which). Served me right for pinching its behind. 15 years later, the shoulder still hurts.

It was fucking brutal and it was quick. That and the fact that I must’ve done a 540 through the air and landed with my face on a parked car. The humiliation was intense.

Couldn’t seem to move the joint for weeks.
U got donkey punched!
How does is feel to get P’owned by an ASS?
Utterly humiliating, given that the ass just carried on staring at the wall after it had swiftly dispatched me like I were a finished character from Mortal Kombat.

I’m proud to say that I began the most painful thread of all. Fuck me, this whole thing makes me want to puke. How you people got through it, I have no idea.

As stupid as it sounds, my second ingrown toenail after surgery. They surgery didn’t hurt since the toe was numbed up as all hell but, when I took the bandage off to clean it the first time it felt like the nerve had healed into the bandage and just got ripped out. I wasnâ??t able to talk or breathe right for a few minutes after that.

I’m not sure how old I was at the time, but I was climbing down a large Cedar tree basically by bear hugging it with my arms and legs when I slipped. My feet were probably only about 4 or 5 feet from the ground so not a big deal, but it turned out the tree was spiked with an nice big rusty nail. So the nail lifted up my t-shirt and tore into my abdomen starting at just below my belly button on the right side, and right up to my rib cage.

I had to stand on my tippy toes to get off the nail, then I ran all the way home. Should’ve gotten stitches but didnt and amazingly theres just a small faded scar left now.

I got very little that can compete.

Infection on my left food we (myself and my former medical officer) believed it to be caused by a mosquito bite. It got infected so fast (usually the infections would occur slowly, mine happened in the course of a day) my entire foot was swollen and looked like it had a black hole with a larger purple hole around that and then just a big red bump. The first night it happened was a Saturday and she said to give it time and just take some tylenol for now and to let her know if it got worse. That night I had to use the restroom which was downstairs, tried to get out of bed to fall down it hurt so bad. Ended up finding an old gatorade bottle and urinating in it. Got picked up on Sunday to be taken in to a doctor (previously she had only spoken to me over the phone). I still have a black scar on my foot and told I will the rest of my life.

oh, when I was like seven I slammed my left hand in a locked can door. Couldn’t get it out, had to wait outside for 3 hours until someone came looking for me. It was the summer, and my family thought I was just outside playing. 4 finger nails fell out.

2 summers later I tried to jump a wet fence, slipped, and the twisted chain link top pierced just under my knee cap. I was stuck hanging from my left knee screaming in pain until my uncle lift me up and back off the top of the fence. SOOOO much blood, no hospital, no stitches, just some gauze and tape.

fractured pinky… the hand is pretty sensitive to that sort of thing. The fracture itself wasn’t that bad though, it was that the ER set it wrong and it had to be re-set a few weeks later by an ortho. It must have taken him a good minute or two of serious pressure to finally get it in place.
