Morning Workouts

I am looking for information on what people do for morning workouts as far as nutrition. I tried the search button first, as i couldn’t imagine this not being posted. If someone knows of a link already created, please let me know, or if you have information, please let me know.

Currently:

5:45a Wake up.
6:20a Drink Surge Recovery
6:40a Start Workout
7:50a Finish Workout and have another serving Surge Recovery.

I want to start including SWOF, but not sure of its placement. Any help would be great.

answers are going to vary quite a bit, but i imagine most people will recomend Thib’s peri-wo protocol. i personally would recommend Power Drive. i wouldnt get anything done in the gym early without it.

I’d have 1-2 Finibars immediately upon waking.

If using Surge Workout Fuel, have it prior to and/or during training. I’d replace the Surge Recovery at 6:20 with it.

If using Surge Recovery before training, have it closer to your workout.

When I worked out in the mornings I could not stand the thought of getting up an hour early to eat. I got up at 4:40am, got ready, downed some BCAAs a cup of coffee and a banana. I had a good meal after my workout.

How much closer to my workout should i take it? Like 5 min prior?

Wake up at 7-8am -

150g Oats
150g Berries
2 Apples
Something in the region of 40-50g protein from lean protein (usually chicken breast)

Train around 9:30-10am and follow with a shower and solid pwo meal (usually more oats, fruit, chicken).

Seems to be doing the trick for me.

edit: Forgot the green tea with breakfast. I quit coffee as it seemed to be doing me more harm than good.

When using Surge Recovery prior to training, I prefer to finish it during my warm up so that my insulin levels are on the rise as I begin training.

how long does it take for Surge Recovery to be assimilated?

Assimilated? Are you Borg?

If you mean digested, it shouldn’t take very long since it’s mainly WPH and high-glycemic carbs.
