My work schedule is changing in 2 weeks and I am forced to train very early in the morning due to other commitments. I will begin training at 5AM. Do you think it beneficial to have a meal (eggs/oats) before I train? Its a half hour drive to the gym so the food will have 45 min or so to digest. Or do you think it would benefit me more to just take some type of energy drink then eat after training?
Yes, eat before you train. I hate training early in the morning because when I yawn and dont feel fully awake, it doesnt feel like Im training hard. Even when i know i am.
Yup get something in you. I personally like the AM workouts but im iused to them once you adjust shopuld be all good.
I love to train in the morning. Well whatever time it is I wake up. It makes me feel sick though if I go to the gym on a full stomach, and I don’t like waiting for the food to digest. Usually I have a 1/2 a protein shake before I go to the gym, and that lasts me until I’m done.
I think after you get used to it you will love training in the morning. I’m in a much better mood through out the day if I train in the morning Vs. training in the afternoon or at night.
I also train at 5-6 AM if I’m working (I’m a teacher, so it’s my vacation now). I tend to eat two breakfasts. The first one as soon as I wake up, porridge and orange juice. The second one a bit after my Surge, usually eggs, whole wheat bread, and a banana. This way I have some energy in but I don’t feel too full at the same time.
I train after work occasionally, but I hate to. The parking lot is usually full at the gym and it’s too crowded.

Ooh, thanks for reminding me. I’ll save the workout for the afternoon, or even take another day off, if I haven’t gotten enough sleep.
If you’re sleeping 8-9 hours a night and don’t feel groggy after the alarm goes off (assuming you need it to wake up), you’ll LOVE training in the morning.
