I am a chickie too, and I hear you on the hair stylin, etc. There are showers at my gym, but that means bringing all my stuff along, and it can get crowded with other women who do shower after they workout. Too much to think about at 4:30am!!
I live 10 minutes away from my gym, so I go home and get ready. My job allows some flex in time in and out, so it works fine for me.

aaahh!!! see you get it! and luckily I do live close to my gym.
I will give it another go on Friday. I would try it tomorrow but I go in at 6:30am and I just am not up to a 3:30am wakeup call.
Also my gym only has two outlets, they need a powerstrip if they really want folks to be able to use their blow dryers and things.
Remember to have a protein shake with some banana or something before you train, plus some BCAAs. This thread was about early workout nutrition right? LOL
I forgot to post how my early workout went on Friday.
I got up at 4:30am, left for gym by 4:45am, got to the gym about 5:00am.
It was crowded! The guy at the front desk told me Friday early morning was always the most crowded because people want to get their workout in early so they have the night free for going out.
I was able to get in a workout though but I kept glancing at the clock. Worried about time.
I got in some good leg work and did some cable rows and presses for upper. I was actually kind of winded because I was going through everything so fast with very little rest between lifts. I left the gym at 5:45am.
It was great getting the workout in and I did love the energy in the morning and I ended up working late so it was great that I had gone in the morning.
I just wonder though if 45-minutes was enough time?
I did leg presses, goblet squats, weighted lunges (forward and reverse) and then the cable rows and presses.
I wake up at 9 and have about a cup of oatmeal with l-leucine, peanut butter, chopped nuts of some sort (walnuts right now), a scoop of strawberry Metabolic Drive, and some frozen berries mixed in at about 9:30, then I go lift at 10.
My routine is:
5:30 Wake up, shower, etc…
6:00-6:30 Eat 1 cup kashi go lean crunch with either soy milk or reg milk (w/e we have) big handful of sliced almonds, and cold milled flax seed. if we have berries, i’ll throw those in too.
7:30 workout
try something like that, but make sure to give yourself at least an hour to let it digest. the kashi-nuts-berries-flax mix works great because it hit’s you slowly, but gives you great energy.
If you have it too, have a protein shake about thirty mins before you workout, maybe when you drive to the gym or something, but if you drink something like orange juice with your whey, it’ll give you a little more boost in the morning
