More Trouble Than I Am Worth: Chaos Is The Plan (T3hPwnisher Log)

One thing I’ve learned that most there aren’t interested about any dialogue.

But enough of that. I want to see more keg carrying and mat pulls.

How do you do that? I looked for a way to flag one post in particular but did not see a way.

I personally am glad I don’t have political convictions deep enough to make me want to argue about them with strangers on the internet.

Politics do good in echo chambers. Everyone there gets along. Outside of that, it’s just a shouting match with no opinions changed. All that it accomplishes is that convictions are deepened for when they run back to the safety of their echo chambers with more to bitch about.

Great TB system write up, really great information, keeps it on my list of things to get to eventually!

@SepCalla Absolutely spot on. And “keg carrying and mat pulls” sounds like another excellent blog subtag, haha.

@OyAmPipMayo There should be a literal flag nearby the edit button on the post to click. Unless that’s just something I have as a member coach.

@shaneinga You’ve nailed it. And sadly, the internet has made it VERY easy to seek out these echo chambers and self-radicalize. Back in the day, if you were a weirdo, society would call you out on it. Now, you can find a bunch of fellow weirdos to validate you.

@alex_uk Hell yeah brother! I really think you’d dig it if you give it a shot. It’s very versatile for someone with a schedule like yours, and well suited for first responder types.

PM WORKOUT (1930)

TACTICAL BARBELL MASS PROTOCOL SPECIFICITY BRAVO

Operation MILO Cycle 3, Week 1, Workout 6

Stone of Steel over bar

Notes:

  • 160lb stone, 50” bar, 3 rounds of 1 min on/2 minutes off
  • Got 8 reps in the first round, 9 in the final 2
  • Technique felt sharp. I was exhausted today, as I drove 5 hours total so we could go see a new puppy we’re planning on getting. 2.5 hours down, see the pup for an hour, 2.5 hours back, then dinner and got this done.
  • Keg carry yesterday was 232.5lbs. Did the keg carry right after this workout with 233.5. The keg felt light, after the stone work.

Operation MILO nutritional SITREP

Breakfast was a standard weekend breakfast of 2 omelets with 3 eggs, smoked chicken breast, grassfed wagyu beef tallow and Sargento thin sliced swiss, topped with ghee, alongside 4 strips of beef bacon and a Teton Waters Ranch grassfed beef polish sausage.

Dinner was 20 smoked chicken wings from Buffalo Wings and Rings.

Not for me - relatively new account so maybe it’s best.

This is a post quite similar to something I’d considered writing. And I couldn’t have said it better.

What’s that.

I teach government, which I actually dislike. Part of it is, I just do not like politics. The other evening my wife started up about something. I had to tell her, I was not interested. I have even quit watching the news. No NPR on the way to work, no Fox, MSNBC, etc. It has been very liberating.

@shaneinga “Everyone… gets along.” I agree. That is why I like it here. Even the guy who uses the Soloflex gets hearts after a workout. It is appreciated.

I am with you.

I recently did the same, funny how little I miss it, yet I was fairly compulsive with checking if, reading it, wanting to know everything. Doesn’t really seem to do you any good, not like you can do anything about 99.8% of the stuff the news presents anyway.

It definitely sounds like the right sort of program, even programming conditioning (which I’m so bad at missing). Would you think that base builder would be a good transition from a harder program? (Is it a park bench?)

Also new puppy is very exciting news, look forward to seeing the pictures!

Same. I quit shortly after the election this year. I’m just trying to enjoy my day to day and raise my kids. Life is crazy enough without me getting angry about something that someone else told me I should be angry about. And to the point of @alex_uk, beyond my vote (which I feel is less and less valuable these days) there is little I can do to change things.

@burien_top_team Much appreciated dude! It seems many level headed individuals have bowed out over there, which, unfortunately, just makes the echo chamber even louder, haha. You see it with other forums too: the knowledgeable folks eventually peace out because of the volume from those on top of Mount Stupid ala the Dunning-Krueger effect.

@Friedrich PWI stands for “Politics and World Issues” a sub-forum here. But, as far as watching the news goes, it’s never on in our house, to the point that, one time, when we were leaving the house, we turn the TV on for our dog so that they have some noise. My kid turned on the TV, it was the news, and before they could get exposed I yelled “Shut off that garbage and go put on some cartoons”. Sad state of affairs.

@alex_uk In truth, I haven’t ever run base building to be able to comment on it. But as far as it’s design goes, it sounds exactly like something meant to tune you up before the big game. I feel like it’d be great to help get people in shape or BACK in shape to start training again. We’re about a month out from the new pup being able to come home: they were 2lbs when we went to visit them on Saturday. So tiny.

AM WORKOUT (0402 natural wake up: didn’t set my first alarm)

TACTICAL BARBELL MASS PROTOCOL SPECIFICITY BRAVO

SSB squat
4x10x260

Lever belt squat
4x10x205

3x10x123
1x8+2x123

(3) DB incline bench

8+3x55

ASSISTANCE

Standing ab wheel

Chins throughout workout

Notes:

  • Rest 1 minute between sets for the lower body work. Went 60-90-120 on the axle, 60-75-75 on the DB, and 60-120-120 on the dips.
  • The squats remain a total ball buster but still within my capabilities. The pressing is challenging. Rest paused as needed.
  • Keg carry was 235lbs yesterday.
  • Weighed in at 84.1kg this morning. I’m keeping quite lean through this gaining process this time. Think the 2 meal a day approach has paired well.
  • Last night was the family meal. We reheated the baked spaghetti from last week, alongside some bread fried in ghee, 3 sunny side up eggs, and 5 of the Valkyrie’s peanut butter oatmeal cookies with some local raw honey and some fairlife skim milk.
  • This is log worthy: our grocery store had a special of $.99 per pound of pork shoulder. I picked up 3, ranging from 8.5-9lbs. We already have one on the pressure cooker for tonight, and the Valkyrie says we may just have to do weekly kalua pigs to make use of this deal. That’s a good situation to be in. Suffice it to say, pork is going to continue being a regular in the rotation.

We haven’t had any form of local tv for well over a decade (not sure how long, maybe sine I was 16) and utilize ad-free streaming. However, one of the platforms doesn’t have option for ad-free and plays local news segments. It’s debilitatingly sad, which has resulted in me not watching any TV in months.

Where did you get your keg? I’m starting to look into heavier implements than the 150lb Titan Slam Ball I have. I’ve considered sand, but I kind of prefer rigid implements because they seem to suck more.

I have a Mike Bartos power keg

In full disclosure: for the price, I’m pretty disappointment in it. I have Mike’s Stone of Steel, which is a great product. The keg, though, arrived with the center loading pin bent, so it’s angled very far from center at the top, which makes it that I have to install the connecting arms JUST right to get it to stay in place, and I’m sure it also makes the load lopsided. And it also took twice as long to ship as was quoted, which is the second time that’s happened to me with one of his products, and both times I received an apology e-mail explaining that a big storm had come through and knocked out their electricity and put them off production schedule for a few days or something like that, so I started telling people that all Bartos’ products come with a free sob story.

But, since I HAVE the keg, I’m making the most of it. It’s still a VERY rugged shell, and the powder coating is aggressive enough that the keg scratches the hell out of me whenever I use it. And, the other day, when I fell down on it, I’m sure that, if I were using the Titan loadable keg, I would have bent the frame.

You may appreciate a loadable Husafell stone. I’m thinking of treating myself to one after this experiment is over.

Appreciate the honesty on it. That’s a disappointing value prop for buyers.

I’ll look into this. Appreciate that. I have my yoke, but don’t really feel great with the load on my spine. Same reason, I don’t back squat anymore. Is there a brand you like for the husafell? I just about always start with Rogue, then look at Rep, then buy from Titan because there isn’t a significant enough difference between them for my purposes to justify the added cost.

I’ve only ever carried a Titan stone in competition, which everyone says is far shallower compared to the real deal, but I don’t have anything to compare against.

We have a big selection of strongman equipment at my gym, I love the variety!
Have only tried this keg one time and as you say, it is rough!! If you’re ever in Toronto, Canada, send a message and I’ll get you a guest pass, I feel you would really enjoy this gym as well!

Your log is inspirational man, keep it coming, spread that positivity of gains…forget politics!! :flexed_biceps:

@DJoftheJungle1 That’s mighty kind of you, and thanks for the kind words as well. It’s been a bit since I’ve been up north, but ya’ll have some fine cuisine. Which, on that topic…

Operation MILO Nutritional SITREP

Breakfast was 11oz of brisket, 8oz of beef rib fingers, beef liver and 3 whole eggs/5 whites topped with ghee. Also some chicken breast thrown in, because the slices of brisket I had were almost pure fat and I figured this way I’d get in some post training protein.

Dinner was 3 whole eggs, 5 whites and then a very generous portion of kalua pig. What’s pictured is the ENTIRE pig, although my kid jokingly said “There’s dad’s plate!” I certainly had my fair share, and I’ve got some awesome leftovers for leftover night. I genuinely felt like I COULD have eaten the whole thing in one sitting; maybe one day I will.

This thread always makes me hungry. Even after eating. :joy:

Need to eat more! Like how a zebra can walk in front of a fed lion without fear, once the meal is done I don’t wanna THINK about food until it’s time to eat again, haha.
