More Trouble Than I Am Worth: Chaos Is The Plan (T3hPwnisher Log)

@tlgains I’ve played Phantasy Star 1 and 2, but not 4. I have a copy of it (a few probably), just haven’t gotten around to it. Also really enjoyed Phantasy Star Online for the Sega Dreamcast. Kefka is a fantastic villain. He’s one of the few that ever actually succeeded, haha.

5 burpee chins
10 swings
5 dips

50 swing cashout

Time: 18:58

25 pushdowns

THIRD BREAKFAST

2 mile 80lb weighted vest walk w/dog

Notes: 2:45 between sets of push presses. I absolutely destroyed push presses today. I’m not sure what I am becoming, but it’s nutty. I was always a deadlifter that muddle through squats and push presses, and now my squats are on fire and push presses “make sense” and my deadlift falls apart. It’s all transformation and I’ll take it. I’m sure the daily front squats are playing a big role there. I’ve got some quads finally.

Had a few issues on some sets of the weight carrying me forward, which would disrupt flow, but otherwise I was able to use the rebound from one rep to launch into another.

Honestly forgot what my PR was on Poundstones, so went with 198. It was awful. That’s the goal.

That little conditioning circuit was slick. Got in 250 swings that way. I keep listening to Dan John podcasts and that 10k swing challenge keeps getting in my head. I’ll run a program one day where I include that as well.

Since I was supposed to work nights yesterday, work let me come in a little late today, so I was able to get in that walk with the dog. Glad I could. I’ve just been getting in a ton of training.

On the nutrition front, continuing to nickel and dime stuff. Added some grassfed butter to the morning breakfast burrito. Been eating a lot of canned wildcaught salmon as well. Just kinda got a bug about it. Smell pisses off the Mrs, so I only really eat it when she’s not teleworking.

I’m honestly just in a great place right now. Been a while since I felt so good.

Dude my Mom complained about the same thing during my winter break. All I was eating was canned salmon, tuna, and chicken. :joy:. She was working from home at the time so every time in the morning, I would go downstairs for breakfast. As soon as I started using a can opener my mom would say “I don’t want to smell tuna”

More people need to do MMA/wrestling. There are very few odors that offend me.

This stuff is sooo good.

I’m also a fan of canned mackerel and sardines

Hey me too :joy:

A favourite combo of mine is to chop up kimchi and mix with the salmon.

Note: my nose is more or less decorative

The flavor is pretty benign to me, but I pretty much make a game out of getting as many different protein sources as possible. Today, I went Greek and put the whole thing in a low carb tomato/basil wrap with some tzatziki sauce and fat free feta cheese, with tomato and lettuce. It just now dawns on me that I forgot the onions. Which is honestly why I can’t stand gaining: I have to remember SO much food.

I also like just mixing it with some sauerkraut and celery. I like the crunch.

Hey Pwn have you ever eaten lamb before. That’s definitely something on my “I want to eat that” list.

Some great training has been going on in here keep it up

I have. It’s never really stood out for me. It’s yummy, but not something I’d pick over other meats. It’s REALLY fatty as well. I have the option to get some where I shop and I just can’t bring myself to compared to other choices.

@bigpappafrance much appreciated!

Not pwn, but lamb is delicious… BUT it’s also insanely expensive…

Insanely fatty and expensive. Nowhere near as satisfying as a good steak.

@tlgains obviously I’m also not pwn, but I had it at a restaurant and it blew me away. It was cooked perfectly and the taste was incredible.

I tried to cook it and it sucked… So it seems that as long as I don’t cook it, it’s amazing.

I’ll still give it a go one day, speaking of steak, I am yet to cook myself a higher quality ribeye steak instead of some Walmart ribeyes.

Unrelated but, randomly in one my classes I asked some buddy who goes hunting, if he can supply me with some venison. That’s also something I wish to eat. He said he could get me some but I guess he forgot, I ain’t too aggressive about it anyway cause I said that impulsively. Idk jack about venison.

Venison is tricky to cook, it’s seriously lean so it needs a really good cook. I wouldn’t trust myself to cook it for someone else. Tasty though.

Yeah, I’ve only ever had it in a summer sausage and a ring bologna with some pork blended in for fat, which is amazing. I’ve had some elk steaks and burgers though, which were fantastic, but they were farm raised elk vs wild.

I have nothing against hunting: I’m just not a good shot, so I don’t do it, because I figure, if an animal is going to die so I can eat it, it should at least have a quick, semi-painless death with no fear. I’d feel awful wounding some poor animal, chasing it down and clubbing it to death.

So all THAT said, I’ve always extended the offer that, if someone wants to shoot the animal for me, I’ll drag the carcass and we can split the meat. Figure we both play to our strengths, haha.

Other fun animals I’ve had include gator. “Tastes like chicken” as they say. Ostrich is fine too. Crickets, but they were ground into a flour, so it’s kinda cheap. I’m sure there’s more. Animals are just delicious.

I’ve only cooked venison and moose a couple times, but my strategy has been to mimic what I’d do for a lean steak and then really dramatize it. Pull it from the fridge and let it get to true room temp, then blast it for 90-120s per side over high heat and then let it sit for a few minutes before slicing. Been successful so far with that approach.

I can imagine the scene, “alright so now we’ll field dress the animal, it’ll help the meat keep and it’ll be easier to pack out.” “Did you say… eaiser?”

I can totally see you zercher-carrying some huge beast across a field, haha.

In a related discussion, the freezer where I keep all my meat is in my basement, down a VERY narrow flight of stairs.

Primarily because, my father-in-law, upon observing the size of the freezer and the width of the stairs, said to my wife and I “Oh yeah: there’s no way you can get that down those stairs”.

@jshaving Gotta yoke it! Better balance, haha.
