More Test Makes You More Conservative

My flaw. I don’t tolerate very well when someone states an inaccuracy to make a point.

Reminds me of that Louis CK quote: “gay men are MEN now, whereas straight men now are f@gg@ts”.

I think this test has a few questions that seriously skew where someone can be placed in this chart.

My result.

It does. The one where it asks if you believe you are more successful because of your race or whatever is a load of shit. They are also too literal in their meaning.

The lumberjack tangent is crying out for this…

I think they use this one to see if someone supports fascism, which would have them placing the person right or left depending on whether they consider fascism right or left and despite fascism not being inherently racist. Not all fascist societies put importance on race. It is definitely authoritarian though.

I also don’t know how they classify the questions on sex.

They definitely are correct in placing me with a slight authoritarian streak.

I don’t think so, politically. You’re one of the least-opposed-to-secession on this board, so I would say you’re one of the least authoritarian.

That goes along with why I think that Political Compass thing is pretty terrible: it takes personal matters and turns them into political beliefs. It asks whether you like X, and not whether you believe force should be used to combat X.

I definitely want to comment on this haha.

So due to my Elhers-Danlos, I could barely move without pain in my 20s, let alone lift. Now that I can lift and sprint, my testosterone seems to have skyrocketed.

I haven’t done a blood draw for it, but:

  1. My libido has at least tripled. The jump in libido is at least double what happened to my sex drive during puberty. So it’s a gigantic jump haha.
  2. Hair is growing faster than ever. Haircuts had to go from monthly to every two weeks at a point.
  3. Face looks more masculine. Hard to describe, but my wife notices it too. Jawline is just sharper independent of bodyfat percentage.
  4. Voice is a bit deeper, but not by much
  5. Confidence is definitely up by a lot. Any sort of social anxiety disappared on its own, which is nuts.

Politically, I’ve always been super liberal but very anti-authoritarian. And I’ve definitely gotten much more anti-authoritarian the more I lift. I’m a very hard left-libertarian according to the political compass. If anything, I’m more left than ever now.

Also, is this what steroids feel like to guys with normal bodies? It’s like being on 24/7 viagra

i linked this study on a DIFFERENT men’s health forum and was insta banned.
just a link…i was hoping that those sites are not widely infiltrated by libtards…i guess not

I don’t think more T makes men more conservative. This study involved 136 men. People can gather whatever they want from this sample.

I think this is a meme perpetuated by “conservative” men (and I put that in quotes for a reason) to state, “We the real men in the house! We’re not like those soyboys!”

Meanwhile so-called soyboys likely make up a small fraction of men with liberal attitudes.

I work out in a father-and-son town gym, not one of those madhouse franchises. It’s awesome! The lower level is called The Dungeon (part of what I like about it). Most of the crowd is college-age Gen Z. There is no shortage of testosterone in the place. I can be wrong, but I’d bet money that hardly anyone in there cares about “trad-con” values or conserving much of anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if some not only have liberal attitudes, but also hedonistic attitudes.

Does anyone think that the guys in Motley Crue, or any similar bands, were lacking in testosterone? No, they weren’t. Are CEO’s of companies “gone woke” lacking in T? No. My cousin’s liberal husband who’s a film director? No. And so on and so on.

Sample size is too small to draw a conclusion

Plenty of liberal bodybuilders who take truckloads of T

Need meta analysis

Randomness is even more important, and all the associated bias of polling. Don’t get too offended by “bias” as it is a sampling word without connotation, e.g., response bias: Person polled refuses to comment.

I do agree with your overall point, but i think if we frame this point another way…

A small percent of men with liberal attitudes are soy boys, but near 100% of soy boys have liberal ideologies.

That was my impression reading this thread… a bunch of guys who value traditionally manly traits patting themselves on the back because a shit-tier “study” confirmed their biases and let them shit on an out group “lol those soy boys are all broke and don’t have any T, not like us manly rich men banging all the hotties! It’s true because a study says it”

Although I do figure most of this is in good fun, if a “study” said the opposite I bet they would find 10 reasons to trash it, the source it came from, and still come to the same conclusion they liked?

I know plenty of conservative types that would be dead of 100 medical issues 50 times over without all the medicines invented by those liberal educated soy boys… they certainly wouldn’t be out jacking lumber and counting their Benjamin’s. oh and they’re quite wealthy because of those jobs, so does that “prove” anything?

Both right. @Lonnie123 @Andrewgen_Receptors I don’t think there’s anything liberal about me and I can recognize this goofy meme. (I’m also not a “centrist”, conservative, or blind traditionalist.)

Does anyone watch the Mark Bell show on YouTube? Anyone think there’s a shortage of T in that studio? Anything conservative about the hosts and guests? Absolutely not!

Assuming their sampling is perfectly random, and the choices have a binomial probability distribution, and that the customary 95% confidence interval is used, the margin of error for predicting the population from a sample size of 136 is + or - 8.4%.

It has been almost 20 years since I took biostatics and research methodology and I don’t work in research. I’ve forgotten like… a lot!

Is that a high margin of error?

My quote should have copied (+) for + or - 8.4%

Because the poll is looking for a majority to make his point, the closer his results are to 50% the less the margin of error he can tolerate. He would need to poll above 58.4% to favor to have statistical evidence that it favored that opinion.

I should include that for determining sample size where you cannot predict the proportions for and against, the method of choosing a value for “p” in the formula is to choose 0.50 (50%) which yields a higher required sample size. For the error calculation, I used p = + 0.50.
Note: if the proportion is close to 0.90 (90%) or higher the required sample size drops, and the error for any sample size will drop also. Attribute variation is calculated as p(1-p) in the formula.

I need to double down on the difficulty of polling people. It is riddled with “bias” problems.

Tommy Lee was drinking two gallons of vodka a day before getting sober. Nikki Sixx used upwards of $1000 a day on heroin and cocaine, clinically died from it and was revived. I would be shocked if these two had healthy T levels with that level of substance abuse.
