More Movies You've Watched This Week

Oh, I forgot:

Now, Christian Bale is a good actor and all that… But… He so wasn’t the right guy for playing John Connor?
Of course the writers didn’t exactly seem to care all that much about John in the first place, but hmm.
Again, I’m biased because of the series and all that… Them ignoring the series in t-4 seemed like a stupid idea to me.

Anyway, CB is a much better Batman than Connor.

And just like in Dark Knight, the other main guy stole his show.
This time it wasn’t the Riddler, but Markus Wright.

Oh well.

Let’s see how the (possible) following 2 terminator movies will turn out. I’m a bit skeptical… They spent most of t-4 on Markus’ character, and now he’s gone? Some trilogy…

Agreed with your problems with Terminator Salvation. I read a couple of articles online however that help explain some of the problems. Christian Bale was originally supposed to play Markus Wright, and Connor was supposed to be a behind the scenes character. We would hear hi radio broadcasts, but not actually see him till the last 10 or so minutes of the movie. Christian Bale however demanded that he play the John Connor character. This is why there are many scenes that seem out of place, and why Bale’s character never really gets developed.

SPOILERS

The script had a massive number of rewrites. One of the original endings was very dark, and would’ve been interesting if it had been put in the film. In this one, at the end with John Connor dying they wouldn’t have had Markus give him his heart, but instead they have John Connor’s face grafted onto Markus’s metal head. Afterthis process Markus then proceeded to kill all the humans, and take over as John Connor. A big fuck you ending if I’ve ever seen one.

End Terminator Spoilers

I’m currently making my way through a James Bond marathon with some friends. 22 films in 22 days. Currently made it through 5. I love the old Sean Connery Bond films. His raw portrayal will never be topped IMHO. Really interesting to learn tat before he became an actor he was a bodybuilder. Some reports I’ve seen said he competed in the Mr. Universe competition, but I haven’t seen any record of that.

Also, I too am sad to see T:SCC get the boot. Started off a little inconsistent, but the last season was just so incredible. Fucking Fox.

i just watched a CLASSIC movie, surely some of you guys have seen it.

Stone Cold

haha, i dont know why but goddamn i loved that movie when i was little. brian bosworth was the reason i wanted to be a biker and grow out a blonde mullet. its pretty funny watchin him in that, then in the longest yard. boy i tell ya… they dont make action movies like they used to with all the gratuitous tit shots like they have in that movie.

I remember that movie, he was actually somewhat decent at playing a badass. I am sure his background helped. But the images of Bo Jackson running over his ass still run through my head.

Yup, you guessed it. Great film.

Entourage: Seasons Four and Five - I love this show! I had never watched Entourage (I don’t have HBO) until recently and once I started watching Season One, I’ve just been on a mission to watch the rest and get all caught up.[/quote]

Entourage is the shit! Season Six starts on July 12

My other favorite shows: Dexter, 24, and Lost.

Saw Transformers 2 on friday night, t’was actually pretty good. I was never a big fan of the franchise and I turned off the first Transformers movie after bout 20 mins 'cos I just thought it was a bit ridiculous.

I also felt there was a bit of sillyness to get over in Revenge of the Fallen but it was a pretty entertaining show. The action sequences(that happened every 3 mins) were exceptional.

Also, any evaluation of the movie wouldn’t be complete without a: Megan Fox… WOW!

You thought a movie based on a cartoon about robots that turn into vehicles and objects (SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES SMALLER THAN THE SIZE OF THE ROBOT) was “a bit ridiculous”?

Yeah, I felt the same way about that whole Superman movie thang. I mean, a guy who can fly!!! Where do they find this material??

As for TV shows, I’ve spent the last week getting through the first season on ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Goddamn funny show. And season 2 is damned good so far as well…

I’ve already stated I wasn’t a fan of the franchise, and I thought the first movie was below average with it’s only appeal being that it was a live action Transformers movie and with only fanboys finding that appeal.

Tranformers was an awesome movie. From a fan perspective (watched it some as a kid) and non-fan perspective. Wow, you got some bad taste. And shutting it off after 20 mins? You missed Meghan Fox leaning over the hood of a car

Stay with it, it gets even better, they realize just how damn good of an ensemble it is down the road and eventually everybody gets about a fair share of the load.

NPH is fucking hysterical.

And Colbie Smulders(Robin) Sweet lord is she attractive.

And even though I hate Jason Segel for certain scenes in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, he is still a great comedic actor.

Me personally, gotten through the first 2 seasons of Chuck recently, love it, has cracked my top 5 tv shows, so glad it got picked up for next year.

And I too have recently got into True Blood, went home to see the family and ended up watching the entire first season in 2 nights. When did Anna Paquin get super bendoverable ?

Being a theoretical physicist myself, I find the Big Bang Theory pretty entertaining and funny. As for movies, I watched Art of The Devil 2 (a Thai movie I think) last night, it was gorry and sick as shit.

Meh, horses to courses…
I tend to like most movies, even the ones that everyone else hates. The first Transformers just didn’t click with me(I already get my fair share of abuse from my friends for it) but I thoroughly enjoyed number two

watched Pet Semetary last night (1st time in like 10 yrs). I was watching it and the title popped up real quick and I wasn’t paying attention. I was like “did that say Semetary”… forgot they mentioned in the movie it was misspelled

In another thread, someone laughed at my misspelling of ‘Semetary’ when talking about Pet Semetary. It took two additional posts to explain that the misspelling was intentional in the context of the book and movie.

Rocky Balboa - The 6th installment of the Rocky series, and honestly, it still gets my engine going. I used to train to the soundtrack playing in the background, and looking at Sly’s old wrinkly ass still doing pull-ups and squats at his age just get me pumped for tomorrow. This movie is cheesy and probably should not have been made, but this saga is one of the last ones around that gives me this feeling of kicking ass and taking names.

IDK, I think it was a move in the right direction from the monstrosity that was Rocky 5.

Even Sly admits he fucked that one up.
