I just watched it and fucking loved it.It was badass, like mad max on steroids.I liked how they blended in a lot of the things that were in the past terminators.Such as, the motorcycle terminator busting through the bridge and dropping down like in T2, Malcom the good Terminator busting out the windshield in the semi like the bad Terminator in T2, John Conner playing welcome to the jungle while rangling that motorcycle (same song him and that red head kid were playing while riding johns dirtbike around in T2), Kyle Reese, John Conner saying I’ll be back, Arnold fucking shit up while looking as good as he did in T1 (Obvious special effects).Oh yeah one more thing, whats with shooting shotguns one handed in terminator movies.
I don’t like Terminator movies, but I liked this one. I liked when the human robot dude fucked up those guys.
Why is Kyle Reese played by the biggest pussy ever though? (I might be getting characters mixed up, but you know who I mean)
I think I had super high expectations for Salvation and was a little disappointing. I am a huge terminator fan and I also really like Christian Bale. I think James Cameron would have done a better job, but it was pretty good still.
I hated it! I cant believe you guys liked it so much. Its a big budget explosion movie. Sam Worthington is a great actor though, He’ll be good in that new James Cameron movie Avatar. Christian Bale (whose one of my favorite actors) didnt seem like he enjoyed being in this movie and it shows.
Terminator one and two are on a whole different level. This movie was made to bring in $100 million during opening week nothing more.
My friend and I had a conversation about this after leaving the theater back in May. If you have a robot that is designed to kill people, literally named “The Terminator”, why does it throw people around instead of just putting one of those steel fists through their skulls?
Oh one more thing-
Anybody notice the silouettes (sp?) of human/humanoid beings high up in the SkyNett building while prisoners were being processed? It makes me wonder if it’s really machines behind the nuclear holocaust…

I still haven’t seen it. I’ll rent the DVD soon I guess.
I heard about CG Arnold…how did that part look?
On first viewing it looks great, and is the highlight of the movie.
Unlike the other Terminator movies, for me this one, including that scene, didn’t stand up so well to being seen a second time, though.[/quote]
Tough break for Roland Kickinger. He looks enough like Schwarzenegger to be able to play a T-800, but I suppose the publicity generated by having ‘Arnie’ in the movie was too good to pass up. I initially though that they’d only superimpose Arnie’s head on Kickinger’s body, but it looks like Kickinger was only there for motion capture duty, and they had created a virtual body as well.

Especially when T2 establishes that Terminators have detailed files on human anatomy to make them more efficient killers. In T1, didn’t the Terminator punch into the abdomen of one of the thugs, killing him? The have the strength to kill with a single punch, so why not go for the quickest and most efficient way of killing a human?

I didn’t notice that, but I’ll keep an eye out for it when I eventually watch it again.
Bad movie otherwise. Sam Worthington even said he was a little embarrassed when he watched it. Even he said some of the stuff didn’t make sense. Like how does a 30 ft giant robot sneak up on a group of people in a house? Wouldn’t you hear it walk up or feel the ground tremors from something that size moving?
