More Movies You've Watched This Week

Righteous Kill - Two classic actors known for being mobsters, turned into cops, one turned into vigilante. Plus it has 50 cent and I like his music.

21 and Next - Because I like gambling.

Brotherhood of the Wolf - Monica Belluci, and a cool story thrown in for extra…

The Departed…the elevator scene is brutal.

The Hangover- Briliant movie. Laughed the whole way through. Very origina. I was glad that neither Paul Rudd or Seth Rogen was in the movie as they seem to be dominating this area of film lately and I’m just damn sick of it.

Bigger. Stronger. Faster.- Fantastic documentary on steroids that raised some pretty relevant issues for me. The human face put on it by the filmaker filming his own familiy’s journey with steroids was a brilliant touch.

I saw UP. Pixar’s Best work I srsly would put the movie in my top 10 list for sure[/quote]

I really wanted to see this, but wasn’t that impressed. I actually went and made some food while the fiance finished watching it.

007 Quantum of Solace - I found this disappointing compared to other 007 movies. The plot was lame and ungratifying, while the acting was marginally better than that.

get smart - funny movie

I have the best brother. I just checked my mail and he sent me “Army of Darkness” just because.

I love that movie… Bruce Campbell is the man. I will be watching this later today.

The International - I thought this was okay. There’s a pretty good gun fight in the movie that reminded me a bit of Heat. The story was a little slow and kind of lame, but watchable.

Revolutionary Road - Really well acted, but I thought it was a little boring and I hated the end.

Fired Up! - Silly and predictable. Nothing new here. Not very funny compared to similar teen comedies that have come out lately. Sex Drive is better.

Entourage: Seasons Four and Five - I love this show! I had never watched Entourage (I don’t have HBO) until recently and once I started watching Season One, I’ve just been on a mission to watch the rest and get all caught up.

True Blood: Disk Three - Since Blockbuster is taking their fucking time sending me these disks, I’m only halfway through the season at this point. I really like it so far.

Firefly - I loved this! I didn’t watch it while it was on TV, but finally got around to it recently. I’m really bummed they canceled it when they did. Fucking Fox!

Transformers - Wanted to watch it again to have it fresh in my mind before next Wednesday.

I also tried watching a bunch of random, straight-to-DVD horror flicks, but they were all pretty terrible and not worth mentioning by name.

For OG…

Ninja Cheerleaders on Showtime!

Great movie. rolls eyes

A close friend of mine was in that movie, she was a zombie monster LOL.

I saw Defiance - it is very slow like Vader mentioned, but it was good. Very sad though.

Valkerie - I thought this was one of Tom Cruise’ better performances, great story and plot. This movie keeps you til the very end, I highly recommend it.

I’m a Bruce Campbell fan as well. One thing I have found is that you either like his movies or you don’t, no middle ground. I watched Bubba Ho-tep again the other day, classic.

True Blood Epic Show just finished season 1 in 2 days lol. Really digging the whole atmosphere/storyline thingy and the Vampire Porn is a plus.

Have you seen the youtube cut of Tara’s first scene in the shopping store in the first episode? They show the original actress who tried for that part. I am glad they went with the current girl.

I hope season two matches it or does better. Keeping everything confined to that one small town may smother the show if they don’t add more characters and plot lines.

What happened with the original actress?

So, after watching the first episode of Season 2 last week, my sister was pissed off. She’s read the entire Sookie Stackhouse series (I think it’s at 9 books now) and she said the show is switching shit up pretty badly.

I’m about to finish the first book and start on the second, so I guess I’ll see soon enough.

Still a damn good TV show, though.

Apparently, they were going in a different direction at first with who was going to play that part. The current Tara is just more fun to watch. Even with the bad attitude, she comes across as more likable. The original actress just came across as “mean” and less funny.

After seeing it, I agree.

Plus, Rutina Wesley is smokin’ hot.

Rofl the Show is addicting I mean i just watched all of Season 1 and I want MORE! Lol dammit :frowning:

just went movie hopping.

The Proposal- pretty good movie

Year One- didn’t really like it, had a few funny parts, that’s it

Hm, I don’t watch movies often these days, and all the good series were either ditched after the first season over here (dexter, terminator SCC) or are already finished (rome).
Ok, there’s still crossing jordan and painkiller jane… But those don’t even come close to the first three mentioned imo…

And of course smallville is in what, season 325023? I watched most of the first season (I think), but hmm. Guess it’s not really my kind of show.

So yeah, German television is terrible. You can’t even switch the tv on before 8.15 in the evening because it’s all talk-shows and such.

That being said, I actually got a hold of terminator SCC season 2 (watched the first on tv in German) and afterwards, terminator: salvation.

Now, I sort of grew up with the original terminator movie and the second… So it’s one of the few franchises I’m still somewhat interested in.

--------- possible spoilers (like any of you haven’t seen the movie/series yet, haha) ---------------

I started with the series… To my surprise, some of the German voice actors actually did a better job than some of the original guys (esp. when it comes to Cameron).
Season 1 seemed a little so-so at first, but I still wanted to find out what happens, so of course I got the second season…

Ok, other than wasting way too much screen-time on Riley and her interaction/deception with/of John (who the fuck cares about goddamn Riley, we want to know how things develop between John and Cameron, goddamnit), I gotta say I loved the show.
Didn’t like Derek (Brian Austin Green) at first, but he grew on me over the course of the show as well, and his death (or at least the death of his one self) was flat out the most memorable part…
It was fast, no striking pose or anything, it was really damn realistic. We need more deaths like that in television…

And already we have the end of season 2… Good transition into the terminator 1 story-line (sort of), but come on.

They renewed Dollhouse, but not T:SCC? WHAT?
The FOX guy even said that dollhouse was being renewed because of fan-response… Ok, the fan-response for terminator was roughly 10 times what they got for dollhouse… Christ. Someone terminate the bastard.
There are so many shitty/standard series out there… Stuff you’ve seen a thousand times, standard teeny-nonsense, whatever. Yet those keep running for a hundred seasons each…

I hate it when stories go unfinished, especially this story.
One other little criticism: Considering that the series is called the “Sarah Conner Chronicles”, and despite Sarah getting quite a bit of screen-time, she sure seemed less interesting/important to me than John, Derek and Cameron… And shit, she must have taken almost as much punishment as Cameron, almost every episode she got thrown around, punched, kicked, shot, whatever. Poor woman  Imo the actress did a good job in general, I just didn’t care as much about the character.

So yeah. Show cancelled, I guess we really deserve judgement Day.

On to T 4

The good:

-T-600’s and harvester made cool noises (what was that supposed to be, robot radio chatter or joint-movement or what?)
Yeah. Well. I thought they were cool, so

-The guy who played Markus did a good job overall

-I liked the t-600’s  The one in skynet central, watching over the arriving prisoners and shooting the one guy who tried to escape looked pretty damn sinister.

-CGI Arnold, I didn’t get that good of a look at him, but is it just me or did they model him after what he looked like during his competition days?

The bad:

-Er. Gore? Hello? You there, gore? Where are you?

-Movie felt rushed overall.

-Why the heck is Connor surprised at seeing the plans for the t-800? “a new terminator”? His mother was hunted by a t-800 and he was protected by a reprogrammed one in the past, after all.
He should actually have been unsure of whether or not to fight when CGI Arnie appeared… After all, a similar model protected him once and he grew fairly comfortable around it.

-All the action scenes seemed familiar(all in the trailers… lol), or almost all of them…

-Both Cyborgs and Human soldiers are really damn bad shots. I don’t think they’d pass a marksmanship test. I don’t even think they’d survive basic training, to be honest.

-Oh. And we saw little fighting between resistance troops and machines… It was mostly the main characters of the movie doing some fighting.

-Marcus, while an interesting character (though I don’t think the human heart thing made all that much sense), doesn’t seem all that… Fitting to me. I could believe a reprogrammed TOK or triple 8 or even t-800 prototype, but huh? Seems like the whole movie was about him, too. The end was really weak imo.
Once Connor got injured, I pretty much knew what was going to happen. Then, in the MASH tent or whatever you call it, they mentioned his heart being unable to take it… And I just thought “oh, come on, how lame can you writers be…”

-The humans were, for the most part, incompetent idiots. I found myself rooting for the harvester more than for the guys fleeing from him. And I didn’t even like the harvester as such.

-The harvester. It was just goofy.

The ugly:

-Maybe it’s just me, but the atmosphere in general was nowhere close to the sinister/dark future portrayed in Kyle’s flashback’s in T-1. In fact, t-4 seemed a bit steam-punk’ish to me, rusty and all that… But not really all that… Dark?

-The terminator’s were a bunch of loosers. Seriously, almost as bad as the stupid humans. There didn’t seem to be that many about, either.

-I could have done without the movie. Seriously, they should have put the money into the series instead. Now with John (and Weaver, Henry and probably Cameron) in the future, they could have had all the human vs. skynet battles they wanted and then some… And have much more interesting characters/relationships between characters to boot.
Seemed to me that they just made the movie as sort of a quick-fix… Invented a different timeline etc. Oh well.

I’m sure there was more to the movie, but yeah, that’s roughly what I remember.
Mind you, it was nice to watch and all, I’m just still pissed off that TSCC was cancelled.

The FOX guys are so gonna end up in a little cage in skynet central one day.
