Strong work, OMP!
Do you know whether the state meet will be the new weight classes or the old ones?
Thanks for checking in JK.
They are using the old weight class. I’m sitting at 196 so no issues. My wife asked this morning if I was losing weight. Said I’m looking pretty thin these days. Nice way to start the day.
I’ve been scouting the state records and they are there for the taking, but there’s always a strong chance that someone will move a weight class, enter the age class, or come in from the outside and blow me out of the water. Awards aside, I just want to put up some good numbers. Gym numbers don’t carry weight like meet numbers. No pun intended.

Go kick some ass.
I’m already ballooning up and pushing 220 again. I’m trying to balance eating enough for gains with not going crazy but I’m having a hard time finding that line.
OP- you will kill it…Texans are way stronger than the Cali folk!!

Haha - OG where you been?
You’re about to open a big ole can of whoopass.
I really don’t want to mess with the Angry Albino and Not So Punnyguy among others in here. ![]()
Crush and drive them into the sea.
Good stuff as usual OP. I lol’d at the Texas vs. Cali stuff. I’m more of a NYer actually. They say NY makes you too hard, while Cali makes you too soft. After a decade in Cali, I must be perfect right about now!
Checked out some of those USAPL records for Cali -easy (Slim) Pick(e)ns’ (dat dere is a Texas pun) for a man of your strength! I do think it’s kind of silly for a lighter weight to be a “record” in a higher weight class; they should leave it blank or otherwise extrapolate the lighter weight record to the higher weight as well, for obvious reasons.
Thanks for all the support guys! Think I’ll get some ammonia caps and take no prisoners.
Not feeling fully recovered and Tri’s a little weak, so I pounded them.
DE Upper/Rehab
Foam Roll
Rotator cuff warmups
Light DB Inclines 25 x 3
Paused DE Close Grip Bench (45 sec between sets) - 185 x 3 x 10
Light Triceps Press Downs 15 x 3
Light DB curls - 25 x 3
Military Press - 135 x 5 x 3
For DE Bench each rep was paused and tried to explode off the chest. Got a little winded about the 7th set and could barely lock out the last rep on the 10th.
I think all state/local USAPL meets in the US retain the old weight classes. Only national (and of course international) meets use the new ones. Doesn’t make a whole lotta sense to me.
It does seem strange that a federation as uptight about rules as the USAPL can’t get their act together on weight classes. Just pick one and get on with it.
ME Lower

Off to see a doc about my sinus infection. Tis the season.
Nice volume in here despite the sinus infection. Seems like it’s going around pretty good.
Thats some good deadlifting.

Picked up snow chains today. Hummm wonder how I could use those in the gym. Won’t need them for my Outback.
Traveling over some mountain passes tomorrow so ya never know.
Hoping I can find a gym at my destination. Need to do some heavy squat’in next week.
Have a great holiday!
Throw them chains over your back and go for a mountain hike. That’ll get the legs and cardio burnin’.
DE Lower.
My last black diamond run of the day. Had to stop for a quick video. Not sure if this will upload.
Spectacular. I haven’t skiied in years.
