More I learn Less I know

Harry - I’ve worked out with the youngsters a couple times and it makes me feel my age. They are all geared lifters as well so not only do I feel old, I’m old school. So yeah, I’m represent’in.

Thanks for checking in KMC. I’m think I’m finally figuring this deload thing out.

Just another deload day.

Some DB shoulder raises

Some MP’s.
95 x 10
135 x 5 x 3 - paused at the collarbone.

Some Machine MP’s to 175

Some Deadlifts.
135 x 10
185 x 10
205 x 10
255 x 10

Some more DB shoulder raises.
Some sun by the pool.

3 mile canyon walk with the dog.

Deadlift Day:

Deads:
135 x 10
185 x 5
205 x 5

235 x 5
270 x 5
305 x 5

Singles:
345 x 1
375 x 1
385 x 1

Standing and Seated Calf

Chins:
5 x 5 x 6

Ab Raises
Some by some

Noticed the lower back was still a little fatigued when I was warming up so I didn’t push the money set or singles.

BW 194

Bench Day:

Bench Press:
Bar x 30
135 x 10
185 x 5

205 x 5
240 x 5
275 x 5

315 x 1
325 x 1
340 x 1 (Weight PR)
350 x 0
315 x 2

Dips:

BW x 25
+45 x 10
+90 x 10
+90 x 10

Inclines:
135 x 10
185 x 8
225 x 5

I paused the 340 and went up without a struggle so I loaded 350. Had a bad lift off and too slow on the decent trying to control it. It might have gone if I was more aggressive and let it rebound a bit on the chest. Maybe next time.

Strong upper body. And serious dips. I can’t even fathom +90 for ten.

Wow, nice work. Snapper hit the nail on the head.

Thanks Snapper and Jack.

I’ve got a lot of work to do on the lower. Hopefully I’ll see a 405 pull this month.

All the numbers are moving in the right direction. Your getting closer to the 2xBW bench press. And did you guys call Kpsnap ‘Snapper’?

they did! - according to her it’s short for “whippersnapper”

and nice bench PR OP!

Thats really good bench work OP.

Good benching. I’m really impressed by the dips.

x2 Very nice work…

Thanks for stopping in folks - Appreciate the props very much.

We had a hurricane pass over the area yesterday and dumped a huge amount of bay water on us.
My brick chimney finally had enough of the extreme Texas weather and started literally leaking buckets. Water soaked through the masonary and mortar cracks and I bailed 15 Gallons of water out of the attic catch buckets.

Looks like part of an upstairs ceiling is going to come down.

A long night.

Oh no. That sounds terrible. Absolutely no fun.

I guess you could stand and hold the ceiling up. It could count as your MP training for the week.

Squat Day

Bar x 20
135 x 10
185 x 8

225 x 5
255 x 5
290 x 6

315 x 1
335 x 1 Left IT Band didn’t like this one. Didn’t go any higher and it was a grinder anyway.

225 x 10 x 3
225 x photo op. 1,1,1,1 finally sat for 15 seconds at my lowest point just so the kid could get a good picture. Cannot go lower than this without bouncing.

I’m screwed until I can get lower.

I’m in the red light district.

Good Mornings:
135 x 10 x 2
155 x 1

That might be redlighted in USAPL but dive bombing is allowed and would probably get you to depth. Get a video from that same angle at your opener weight (maybe 295) to let us see.

oh - lower your safety rails a notch if possible

That’s about as far as I can get. I have to buttwink and let my knees come forward to get lower.

What’s wrong with bouncing if it gets you to depth? That’s how I squat. Do you have a real controlled descent. I pretty much just drop with speed.

Thanks everyone for checking in.

SD - I’ll try to shoot some video. Pretty motivated now after the reality check. The safety bar location is where I set up a 10" box and I’m doing what I can now to touch and go at that location. The photo looks like I’m higher than 10". I’ll work on lowering the pins a notch and getting more aggressive going down.

DCA - Butt winking is one of my biggest fears. If I can’t get there with a neutral back, then I’ve just gotta keep working it. Can’t afford time off for an outage. Surprised you don’t go lower.

Snapper - Dig your Avi BTW. It already feels like I’m bouncing a bit at the bottom when I click the safety bars. Any more and the dreaded butt wink may occur, but I’m lowering the bars a notch next time anyway to see how low I can go with a safe weight.

I’ve been pretty slow and controlled on the descent mainly because of past back issues but I dived the lighter weights tonight and barely touched the bars. In the above photo I’m just sitting and letting the weight push me down, the barbell is about half an inch above the safety bars. I let it rest a couple times and did Anderson Squats from there.

I’m tight in my lower back, Hams, ITB’s, and ankles. All the wrong places for squat’in. Might be time for a little Yoga. Nothing like mixing it up with the ladies.
