So my wife bought me one of those Nordstrom short sleeve, plaid, metro button down shirts that don’t tuck in. Spose to be cool and make me look younger. Fricken thing must be made for boys with 13 inch arms. Think I’ll use it for a 1/64th ply bench shirt.

They are made for ‘boys’ with 13" arms!!!
I figure if I wear it I’ll get all swole and cut. Its a shame I have to cut the sleeves though.
As a bench shirt I’m hoping to get 135 with it, but I’m sure I can at least curl 35’s in the squat rack. Can’t wait to try it, then I can get on the juice and get really jacked. I’m pretty stoked.

Your wife bought you a metrosexual shirt? Danger Will Robinson, Danger. Does she want you to wear it public?

I would pay to see that in a gym. Video…please!!!

I just wish my wife would allow me to go out in" public" with my “balls”.

Great training OP. Great work your son and daughter are doing. You must be so proud. I hope your shoulder behaves. I’ve found it tough lately to keep up with everyones’ threads as well.
Thanks dude. I’m very proud and even though they are practically adults, I’m still all over their choices in life. My son is still driving me nuts.

Oddly the shoulder suddenly got better with a good bench session this week. Its really weird. Both my shoulder and hips have been bugging me to the point of not sleep well. After Monday’s bench session the shoulder feels normal and my hip popped during squats this week.

My conclusion - Heavy weights are therapeutic.

Good luck with that one. I got mine back but it took a while. It ain’t easy but if you really value them, as I’m sure you do, they are worth the struggle.

I’ve decided to cut off the sleeves of my metro shirt and get some suspenders. Going for the Barbarian Bro’s look without the hair.

Cycle something, week something.

Lots o’ change going on in life. Mostly good.
Travel to visit my daughters oh-so-expensive college and do the tour. (ouch)
Getting the house ready to sell. (ouch)
Lost my job last week. (damn that hurts)
Developing a biz plan for a new tech startup. (Therapy)

etc.

God is great, beer is good and life is crazy.

sorry about the job loss, bro! at least you’re back in the gym and developing a plan

Soory about the job loss. I’m right there with you right now. If you sell the house do you plan on staying in the same area?

Thanks guys. Best of luck on the job front UN.
I have no idea what my next adventure is but I’d kinda like to build a tech company.
I love where I’m at, but the house is too big for just me, wife, and dog and I like the idea of being mobile right now.

Cycle something, week something.

Seated and Standing Calve work
Ab Raises

Nice workout. Squats felt pretty solid today.
The trainer at my little gym threw away the 4" PVC pipe that I used for rolling. She said she couldn’t figure out what it was for and couldn’t imagine anyone using it for foam rolling. I had to give her a bunch o shit for that. Oh well, I need to go to Home Depot for some stuff anyway.

Sorry about the job situation. Looks like you are taking it in stride, though. Something will come up or develop.
Good luck with the house and future endeavors.

Lifting is looking good. Keep tearing it up. It’ll make you healthier, stronger and saner.

Good lookin squat numbers. And mobile as in home, or a smaller house and better vacations?

Thanks for checking in LS - Appreciate the props and support. Been checking your log and pretty damn impressed with your progress. Strong as a bull.

Thanks UN - I was happy with the couple of 315’s. Wish I had a spot for one or two more. The mobility thing is all about FREEDOM! The kids are out of the house and we intentionally made sacrifices to make sure there wasn’t any moves while they were in school. Mobile home…lol…not in Tornado country. For that matter, not ever God willing. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

MP Day

Standing Mili’s
Warmup - Bar x 20 something, 95 x 10

Working Sets:
135 x 8
155 x 5
185 x 3
145 x 8
145 x 5
135 x 5

Dips:
BW x 10
BW +45 x 10
BW +90 x 10
BW +90 x 8

Pull Ups:
BW x 10
BW x 8
BW x 8
BW x 6

Was s’pose to take the day off for rest, but felt like working out to clear my head.
Mili’s definately did the job - for some reason its the only exercise that makes me feel like I’m going to pass out. I take some deep breaths before putting the bar on my collarbone, step a few feet forward holding my breath and then get light headed. On the first set of 185’s I had to rerack the weight before pressing cause everything was going bright white on me.

Weird.

Maybe I should just C&P instead.

Sporting a new do.

Decided what the hell, I’m shaving my head bald.
A whole new world has opened up.
I get mistaken for Bruce Willis a lot. I mean damn near every fricken day.
One lady ran up to me last week, total stranger, gave me a hug, asked for an autograph and wanted her picture taken with me.
I kid not.

I think I’ve figured out what’s been bothering my shoulders.

Dips…

I’ve been wearing a weight belt and the damn thing can start swinging slightly if it’s not locked between the knees. I think that’s what got me about a month ago when I had around 115 on the belt.

Like everything else, when you are lifting heavy stuff you’ve got to stay tight everywhere.
No wobbles in the system or you get hurt.

bruce willis huh… maybe you should look into being his stunt double if he has scenes that require him to take his shirt off or actually lift something heavy.

no need to thank me. this shit just comes to me.

You could name your new high tech business YIPPY-KAI-YAY. That would really get the hugs and photos going.

I will be your PR and marketer and Big MarauderMeat will be your Manager. See that was easy, now what kind of business is this?

Impressive milies OP. I have the same “swinging” issues with dips and I haven’t figured a way around it yet so if you do think of something let me know.

“Old-man powers.” Wow, did that change how I read your handle. I used to have a diving coach who used to joke about his “old-man strength.” He said just by being alive a long time, gravity will force you to get stronger. It gives you old-man strength. I use that bit all the time now in the gym when I am lifting next to the youngsters.

It sucks to lose a job–I know from personal experience–but it can also open up doors that were always there that you never found the need to open because you were comfortable. Good luck with the tech venture, that sounds exciting.

I did a search on the domain name yippykaiyay.com and I’ll be damned, its available.
What do I owe you for the consulting advice?

Meat as my Manager? Did I mention the business was a Tranny porn website?
