Felt pretty solid tonight except for the right shoulder. Think I might have slept on it wrong. Was very careful with it just in case. Got a little sump’in go’in on with the left bicep as well. Noticed it last week so again…yellow light.

I’m defiantly stalled on benchies. I might pyramid them a little. Thinking of going up to 90% 1RM for one rep then backing down to the money set. I was doing this about 6 months ago and it made the money set reps “feel” lighter when unracking. Also felt like I was conditioning for the heavier stuff.

Big volume! Very impressed by the dips…

Nice work, OP…weight miscalcs included. And a lot of sets, I might add.

Home gym = good. Except for the kids running through and not having a partner/spotter.
^x2 I’ve never trained with a partner, so I guess I don’t know what I’m missing.
I’ve only had female partners which was cool and helpful but it comes with its own set of challenges.

My primary supplement is Advil.

Squats

PVC roll, Stretch, and warmup - I do this before every workout and roll the ITB and hips pretty rigorously.

1 x 315

BBB:
5 x 10 x 185

Seated Calf and Standing Calf - Bunch o’ reps

Bench Ab Raises:
3 sets of 20

I’m struggling with ITB pain and have had it for the past couple of months. Squats and Deads really fire it up in taking up the load and decending. Feels like shin splints on the side of the thighs and I just wait for a tear on the decent. At least it feels that way.

This is all due to flexiblity issues and I’m almost convincing myself to lighten up the weight and do a more traditional Bodybuilding routine for the lower body. Also take up some Yoga or more rigorous stretching routine for the lower back, hips and legs. I’m in this for the long term so I need to get it right before I injure myself…again.

Would like to get a meet in this summer to at least get my name on the boards. I have a competitive bench, but want a good squat and deadlift going in.

If its due to felxibility then yoga wouldnt be a bad idea, how far apart are your feet? Do you think if you moved them out a little more it would help? I think droping the weight is good too, a blow to the ego at first, but better off in the long run.

Thanks UN. I keep my feet pretty wide on squats, its old age inflexibility that I need to work on. Too many years of sitting at a damn desk.

Pretty spent after that. Treated myself to a 22oz Texas Angus Ribeye that went down in about 5 minutes. It reminded me of the scene from the Matrix. The dude that decided to go back into the Matrix while having dinner. I know this steak can’t be real, but who cares…and I want to be rich…and famous…like an actor.
Now I just need a good cigar.

Great work, OP. Pairing anything with deads is intense. But to get it done with reps to spare. Great job!

And man that steak sounds good!

Thanks LS. That steak was definately a T-booster.

I reviewed my log this AM and noticed a PR on those Mili’s.
Not much but I’ll take it.

Having a PM discussion with Mod Laurie regarding this area of the forum and its purpose. I don’t think the Mods have been aware that we have been requesting to maintain this as a forum for lifters/training logs and having a separate HRT/TRT sub category.

I’m seeking clarification and if they decide this is a forum for “all things over-35” then my thread will be moved to the training logs section of the forum.

Hopefully they will create a new subcategory for HRT related questions and move the stickies there. I think most of us would like this to be an over-35 training area and the HRT specialists would like their own sandbox as well.

BTW - Laurie is great - very responsive.

Gearing up.

Yep - going to the dark side.
The guy’s I’m training with at UT Austin have talked me into it.

My first meet is July 10 and I may go raw or geared depending on how well I adjust to the stuff.
I’ve looked at all the numbers for Texas, other States and Nats. The best way to compare at my weight and age is geared.

Frankly I’d rather not go there, but why put up raw numbers when there isn’t anyone else in your age/weight for comparison? I’d set State records simply because no one else shows up. It’s been that way for years in my age/weight.

Besides, I can’t say anything about bench shirts and squat suits until I’ve really experienced them.
Sounds like a pain in the ass and wallet for those extra 40-80lbs, but I guess I’ll find out.

Too fried to do dips. My right shoulder is still a little tender from Friday’s workout. Satisfied with the Bench because 325 went up pretty fast.
Wish I could take a nap now, but gotta work. :frowning:

Damn nice work, OP! Really strong pressing. How far off of your max is the 325?

3x300… I would love to get that one day… and working sets too!! Great training!!

Not sure which I like more the 3x300 or 10x215 incline…both are nasty. well done , OP.

I vote for the pullups.

solid training OP, keep on rolling

LS - Thanks for the props. I’m not sure what my Max bench is right now. I haven’t tested it in a while but I think its in the 335-340 range.

JW - Thanks…it kinda crept up on me.

OG - Thanks for the kind words - I haven’t paid much attention to the weight on accessories but it could be a PR s’pose.

UN - Thanks - I dread pull ups because I suck at them, but they are sooo good. I’m focusing on form. Getting a little back arch and pulling more with the lats.

Mro - back atacha. Thanks!

C5/W3 Squat Day

15 x 345

Leg Press Calf:
3 x 10 x 310

Seated Calf
3 x 15 x 4 plates

Bunch-o-Ab Raises

Squats felt really good tonight. Didn’t experience much ITB pain and felt like I had a lot of reserve. No shakiness or hesitation going down into the hole. A little rebound action coming up for the first time.

It didn’t hurt to have some really fine 24 year old bootie right next to me… watching to see the train wreck.

The BBB set was a hurler. I’m still seeing spots as I write this. I’m sure the BBB’s are a PR.

Where’s my damn Advil?

Nice work, you are getting stronger every time I check in here. Great training.
