Because only size = alpha.
Or something.

Is this in response to my post on the last page about having a problem with income being a major consideration in being Alpha??

My opinion of ‘alpha’: Strong of will, body, and mind. If you do not have all three, then you are not an ‘alpha’. An alpha would be making a high income, highest level in your profession (M.D, CSCS, PHD, ect), mentally as tough as nails, persuasive, and a physical beast.
I would consider the orthopedic surgeon known throughout the state/region, working as much as much as possible while fitting in family, and training that also has a 500 pound squat an alpha.
I do not consider the strong as fuck guy an alpha, I do not consider the guy with a PHD in biology a alpha, I do not consider the ballsy guy an alpha, I consider the strong as fuck with a PHD in biology, and a set of balls made out of steel an alpha.
To the assholes calling each other betas, go better yourself to make yourself feel better. Don’t make someone else look worse to feel better.

However, if we want to talk about bettas I would be more than happy to continue.

From my understanding, Alpha/Beta is solely a function of how many hot women you can attract/bed.
One of my friends is scrawny as hell, doesn’t earn anything outlandish, but has local celebrity status as a result of being a DJ. He’s known within the scene.
Due to this status, he has a lot of easy pussy come his way.
Even though he’s sorely lacking in physical makeup (short and scrawny), has no education past a high school diploma and doesn’t have an especially high income, I would still label him as “alpha.”
What you have listed are pursuits alphas tend to pursue, but it isn’t what makes them an alpha.

modern women certainly are no indication of alpha/beta-ness of males

No lol. Just jokes.
Gotcha. My humor detection skills seem to be a little off today.
Where the fuck is Orion when we need him??
If there is a guy at work that other people can’t stand, then that guy is likely an Alpha.
The Alpha wolf in the pack is the one who stares the others down, takes whatever he wants first, and generally behaves like a giant asshole to the other wolves.

or smelly… or a dick… or dry… or borderline retarded… or socially incompetent… or cripplingly introverted… or extremely obnoxious… or cruel… or a snitch… or a compulsive liar… or a chronic gossip… or fucked their spouse…

To my knowledge, the idea of an alpha wolf mistreating the members of his pack simply isn’t true. Every wolf has a job and is committed to their role. It’s usually cycles of social stability and brief mutiny.

I would say this is usually wrong, as the guy those people cant stand is usually a beta trying to over-compensate which is a very beta activity. An alpha doesn’t have to stare anyone down as he exudes his dominance and the beta’s that desperately want to be alpha’s will put on their little show for the other beta’s and try to desperately convince themselves that they are alpha.
I figured out I don’t know what alpha means.

You think he was describing himself or was he thinking about a guy that he knows?

LOL hopefully the latter. No one with good sense would ever say this within the context of the former in person because they know how stupid it sounds (and is).
LOL @ beta and alpha terminology. I bet that 9 out of 10 people who use those terms are seeing themself as alphas
and that they use those terms too compensate for a low-self esteem, small dick syndrom etc.

Well I dont classify myself as either, but I guess most people would classify me as a beta.
I can live with that.

FACEPALM but I’ll give it a shot anyway!
Now how does a guy like that fair in average european society? Not too well, Shunned, and looked down upon for being an insensitive gargoyle.
How so? Last time I checked, he’s an accomplished entrepreneur with celebrity status.
entreprenuer point is moot
celebrity status huh? I thought europeans just don’t care about this stuff?
ohhh, worldwide cedlebrity status by a small percentage of the globe, oh yes I see now…
Hm?
I don’t fully understand either. I think he is making a point against Claudan who said that Europeans don’t care about all that size and strength stuff, and yet many strongmen and olympic athletes achieve celebrity status in their respective countries.
THANK YOU!!! Glad someone can connect the dots around here!
And define celebrity status. Would the AVERAGE person (not the ones attending the strongman competitions) in their respective country be in AWE of them?
Well, when it comes to how Apha he is, it is certainly better to be a superstar in a small niche than to be mediocre in everything you do.
Both in terms of what a man might view as “alpha” and when it comes to the gina tingles.
