Monkeying Around

nice work, I will agree with my limited know- how that front squats helped both my dead and squat,
hitting the quads and abs hard.

30 minutes elliptical. I over slept by about twenty minutes, decided what the heck, still do the cardio, and still managed to get to work at the usual time. Go figure.

you make me feel so damn guilty everytime i read that you did the elliptical. i just sold ours this past weekend on Craigslist. the hardest workout i got out of that thing was from lugging it up the stairs and into the back of the guy who bought it’s truck.

Well, I am guessing you get more activity during the day than I currently do. I see it as a trade off for a lazy desk job. I got ‘addicted’ to doing it in the morning a few years ago when I did a big weight cut. I dropped down from 270 to 227 in 4 months. Money was involved. We had a competition at work called ‘Fat Boys Club’ where we all pooled money and the winner took all. I ended up with a grand. Now they won’t let me join anymore:(

I found I start my day a little better if I get on the damn thing. Now it is more about weight maintenance/blood pressure/morning sanity, cuz I sure as hell aint 227 at the moment…

I have a nice stationary bike and treadmill that don’t get any use. If I had and elliptical I’m sure it would just collect dust. Its great you use yours so often.

Good day.

DE Bench 225 + doubled minis 8 x 3

Close grip incline worked up to 315 x 5 PR might have been 4.75, I thought I saw the spotters fingers touch, either way a PR

DB Bench up 130s x 12

rolling tris with minis 100s x 10, 110s x 10, 115 x 6 last two sets PRs

reverse one arm pushdowns 3 x 20

leaning lateral with EZ bar 4 x a lot

shoulder horns 3 x some

yeah, for a lot of people they turn into clothes hangers. I actually got mine for my wife originally, she uses it twice a year. My cheap scottish blood won’t let me see it go to waste.

I have a sore neck from my workout. If I were one to get distracted to the point of not being able to workout by ‘lungs’ today would have been the day. Somehow it made me work a little more:)

Pete- Good day? 315 inclines… close grip…where the hell were you when I was getting picked on in school!!! Brutal PR, man…

Thanks OldGoat. This was my first time having 315 on an incline since my shoulder issues got real bad 3 years ago. I feel like I have finally gotten back to close to 100% shoulder wise. And while you were getting picked on, I was probably steeling the girlfriends of the guys that were picking on you. So you got your revenge.

Gorilla complaints: hormonal prego wife went to bed before toddler. This has been the case for the last 20 days, so nbd. Toddler does not want to go to sleep. Same, for last 20 days. Finally get him in bed, after horseshit week, and go to watch cable, to discover someone somehow soaked remote in water. I pressed ‘on’ and water flowed out. Such is life. I squat tomorrow. Work on breaking that suit in. And getting some real weight on my back.

High note I found a place here in Minneapolis that makes real Italian beefs, and real dogs. All the Chicago guys will understand. I am happy, but I should have doubled my order. So I guess it doesn’t count as a cheat meal.

follow the deadlift band pull thread at outlaws. I dang near peed my pants:

Us eastern NC rednecks understand too… Damn really strong work Pete.

squatted today, hips and hammies tight so it took foreever to warm up olympic squats worked up to 550 for 1 suit on straps down worked up to 645 for 1, full depth, rack pull from mid shin up to 735 x 1 pr home internet down posted from phone more later

Pete,

Damn are you a strong dude. Had a beef from Luke’s (downtown) yesterday with hot peppers. Glad you found a good place to get one.

damn pete!!! you are putting up some huge numbers bro. that’s a huge rack pull. midshin for me is weak as piss. i’m hoping for 655 in two weeks. are you hitting that without straps? my midshin pull is around 50lbs behind my full ROM pull.

735 is a sick pull. Very nice work.

Looks like your wife’s hormones are making you stronger. Nice rack pull. I like the new avatar too.

Pulls were w/straps, since I am overloading the top end I figured I would cheat a little. Plus my squat work took about an hour and a half as is. I was super tight, lots of warms ups, then just getting into the suit, even with the straps down, was a chore. I did kind of discover the way to use that suit, it is set for narrow stance ‘dive bomber’ squatters, so that is what I am becoming.

Huge numbers. Very, very, impressive.
