Like many I read the logs on Elite pretty often. I like the addition of Vinnie D, great lifter with a lot of knowledge. I noticed he has been doing weighted walks for conditioning lately. I inadvertenly did a new variation of these today.
Took my toddler to the park. We have multiple parks in our vicinity, today he wanted to go to the ‘woodchip’ park, thus named because the playground is filled with woodchips instead of sand. It is a half mile walk each way.
We walked over, really nice for a November day. Got there, we walked some hills, looked at some interesting (to him) berries that are growing, then finally circled back to the playground.
We have been working on the potty training, and earlier he took a poop, so I thought we were good to go without any back ups. I guess the activity got things moving because I looked over and his eyes were unfocued and watering.
‘Did you poop?’ I asked.
‘No.’
‘Are you sure’
‘I pooped. Change me Daddy’
‘I don’t have diapers, we have to go home’
‘Carry me Daddy’
I understood, who wants to walk 1/2 mile with a load under their butt? So I scooped him up, and he clung to me, just like a weighted vest.
Todays cardio: 1/2 mile hilly walk with 40 pound smelly poop vest.
I hope this is my only time trying this kind of cardio, whenever I tried to suck in air I got a full whiff.

…fack!.. Nice. So much whorin’ goin’ on in here I now take a shot of pennicillin and slip a ribbed condom on (inside out… for MY pleasure) before opening up your log.
As usual, after bench night had a real hard time getting to sleep. Didn’t help that my uncle came into town. I think I posted about this a long time ago, but he has been in the processes of adopting his grandson (my second cousin). It is finally happening, like today. So he and I sat up til around midnight, sipping a couple of adult bevvies and shooting the shit. So I skipped the early a.m. cardio. Feck, I don’t think I have managed it after bench night in months, so I don’t think ‘skip’ is the right phrase.
Bunny, I am aiming to do a meet in February. I am undecided whether I am going to be BOF or full power this go around. The way my bench is improving I might just be the happy pressing fairy one more time. But I will continue to hammer at the other two.
Scottish and Norwegian here, love to drink but always expect my conquests to foot the bill… and noone is allowed to have too much fun. Except me, of course.
Hmm, maybe I got the right gene combo to get strong after all. My mother is a McDowell and My father is a Krona, grandson of a Norwegian immigrant. We like our lefsa and lutafisk with a wee bit o single malt.

Front squats worked up to 275 x 6, + 50 lbs over last week
split squats, ghr, hanging abs 3 x 12 each
Little rest between sets, but the set up time killed me today. I was experimenting with chain set up, and some how that added an extra 10 or 15 minutes onto the session.

Nice work Pete. I’ll be hitting the front squats this weekend. I love/hate them.
Yeah, definitely a love/hate thing going on. I think though if I keep them in as a heavy accessory exercise once a week, and add a little each week, I can get my squat and dl moving forward faster again. 275 x 6 was challenging, but not too failure. However it definitely triggered some muscle groups that are seemingly undertrained right now. I am thinking of them in the same way I have been increasing my CG inclines on DE bench day, which I think has been HUGE in moving my bench forward.

I like the front squats because they help my(lack of)flexibility. I can get a lot deeper then I can back squating.
