Monkeying Around

‘rate my wrinkles’ nearly sent coffee out my nose.

This a.m. 30 min cardio. Legs felt like they were full of lead, but made it through.

Hard time getting going, but it was only garbage day.

Seated dumbell curls: 35s x 12, 45s x 12, 55s x 10, 65s x 8

Haven’t done these in quite some while.

Preacher curl 3 x 10

Cable concentration curl 3 x 12 —felt silly doing these

Behind the back shrugs 5 or 6 sets, 10-20 reps

Band pullapart 3 x 15-20

Face pulls 3 x 12

cable abs 3 x 12

legs are sore to the touch, have not been this sore in a long time, so I was dreading sled work. Did various drags w/scapular retraction and rear delt pulls, then sprints with 115 on the platform. Felt good when done.

Not that it matters here but last night forgot to mark 1 mile walk. Tonight I struggled to mow the lawn. Yesterdays DE work was at a very stressful pace, work itself has been over the top stressful the last few weeks and this week was the worst of all. I was setting up the squat rack, chains, box etc. while stuck with my ear to my cell phone listening to a customer situation going south.

Right now with this economy can’t let that happen, actually should never let that happen. So I finally got off the phone and I did my twelve sets of two probably the most explosive, and with the shortest rest, I have ever done. Back on the phone when resetting for DLs. Of course, it doesn’ necessarily help that my bosses boss was benching 15 feet away, so I am super time sensitive. I am attributing this pace to my ‘oh my god my legs are useless’ feeling today… just needed to note.

read this while trying to eat, you fugger…

For that I am going to have mine be dreadlocked…

DE Bench 185 + double minis 8 x 3

felt slow at first, trouble setting up with arch but was okay by set 3

Close grip incline worked up to 245 x 12, + 5lbs and 2 reps over last week. These are feeling good now

DB Bench up to 130s x 11 + 2 reps over last week

Flyes 70s x 15, 75s x 15, 12

Schwabs ‘225’ x 15, ‘315’ x 6 for 3 sets

Pressdowns worked up to stack + mini for 15 reps

laterals 4 x 12-15

shoulder horn 3 x 15

Altering approach to some of the assistance work to keep adding lean mass.

Regarding altering approach to ass. work: will be doing more of a ramp up to one PR set on a few key ‘semi-major’ exercises over the next few weeks, looking for rep/weight prs on each. I have doing this a little already, but this will become a bigger focus. I am week to week noticing huge improvements in size right now, and want to keep it rolling. After this phase, I plan to up the ante a little more and make those same semi-key movements rest pause. This should take me through the end of October/early November. Boring, but just an FYI.

ME Lower
Squats: felt crapulous coming into the gym today, my form was all off, even on the warm up sets. Hard time sitting back, body wanted to lean forward.

45 x 10, 135 x 10, 225 x 5, 315 x 5, 405 x 5, 455 x 5, 495 x 5. Plan was to do 535 x 5, but my spot hadn’t showed up yet, so instead did 565 x 3. Easy, but on the third one knocked into the side of the rack.

By the time I was unloading weight my spot showed up.

Reverse band DLs. Worked up to 605 x3, which considering I have done 600 for 3 straight weight, sucks.
I will keep these in rotations and keep working at getting my DL back to where it should be.

Then did a circuit of 3 sets of 10-15 each of ab wheel, back extension, calve raise, and leg curl. Then done.

30 minutes of spirit defeating cardio this a.m.

I’m gonna braid mine, and put little bells on the end of each one… then dress up as an elf and go out dancing and singing Christmas carols Halloween night… see how long before I am arrested.

Please send bail money or porn now please…

We are all very disturbed indvidiuals.

ME Bench night.

Raw warm ups, close grip 45 x 20, 135 x 15, 185 x 10, 225 x 5 275 x 5, 315 x 3, 365 x 3

Loose shirt 3 board 405 x 3, 435 x 3, 455 x 3, 475 x 2.5 (fugger)

Form way off tonight. I see a trend here. Could not keep an arch for the life of me, was complete flat backed. Could have easily gone heavier with arch.

Floor press 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 6

laterals 4 x 8-12

rope down/rope extensions 3 x 12-20 each

We have a great arch here in St. Louis.

Moving some heavy iron, there Pete.

And yes, this is disturbia.

rate my ear hair?

I mnot going bald anytime soon, got some snow on the roof but WTF is with the “extra” hair sprouting
ears- neck- shoulders. And it seems to be the thickest darkest hair ever.

Nice work pete,

Mathineer, somehow missed you were in beautiful St. Louis. Or at least the Irish pub I speant a night in on my way to New Orleans via my jalopy some 17 years ago. I remember friendly bar staff, we were right along the river, and then a pleasant long snooze in a hotel room before resuming my journey on 55…

Hmmm, another great story regarding your state: about 10 years ago went to visit friends and see some music festivals in KC, MO. Me, my wife, my cousin and various friends convoyed on down. Along with us was a friend who had been 101st Airborne in Desert Storm. He was having, lets say, a hard time adjusting to civilian life. As a means of controling his anger he took up bodybuilding . The fugger has the best, and I have seen a lot of top level pros so I really mean this, the best genetics I have ever seen for that sport. Within 9 months his arms taped at over 20 inches cold. With shitty nutrition and only taking what he could get from GNC. Still pisses me off. Well, we left a street festival and decided to go to a quiet, posh bar for a drink. He came into the bar in Levi’s, doc martens, and a dago T, and said to the bartender “Dude, mind if I hit your head?” The bartender, cowering behind his bar, cried “Please don’t”…

I am no metrosexual, but from a basic grooming point this is unacceptable… and too much work.Â
