Freakin’ awesome work. No doubt you are a little tired.
Yesterday went to the zoo and walked around looking at different critters for a couple of hours, then went to my friend’s new house for some bbq. At 40 this is his first house, and first grill, and first bbq, so I got the cooking honors.
At the zoo I noticed something regarding T shirts. If you are between the age of 18 and 45 and not fat, you have some shitty flash tattoo and wear an affliction Tshirt. If you are either really skinny or fat, you wear a tshirt that says something like ‘I am a beast inside’ or else one promoting a shitty beer. Oh well, the kid had fun, and I will call it GPP.
Today, last ME lower day.
Good Morning, wide stance: 45 x 20, 135 x 15, 225 x 5, 315 x 5, 365 x 5, 405 x 5, 465 x 3, PR.
When racking that last weight I felt the ‘tweak’ again. I was going to do rack pulls but decided to move on.
Leg press 360 x 20, 540 x 20, 720 x 20, 810 x 10, 900 x 10, 990 x 10, 1080 x 10, 1170 x 10 (plus machine weight of about 120). For some reasons the leg presses ‘released’ the pinch. My back felt great after these. Unfortunately I felt too tired to go back and do rack pulls.
Shrugs 135 x 20, 225 x 20, 315 x 20, 405 x 20, 495 x 10, 585 x 10
Finished up with a ‘circuit’ that was comprised of:
Pull throughs 6 x 10-15
Cable abs 2 x 12
Decline abs 2 x 15
Back extensions 3 x 10
Seated calve 3 x 15
Now is the deload. 6 days. Will be doing cardio/gpp, and might do some stupid abs/calves/biceps one day this week. And going to try and find a new chiro. And lots of stretching.
This a.m. 30 minutes elliptical. Felt funny not dragging my gym bag out to the truck this morning.
Lousy sleep last night, up every hour. Think I will take a nap in my truck at lunch.
My next cycle is going to include a lot of GMs and curls. You guys make me feel like a little school boy with your GM and curl numbers. I’m not sure I could even GM 315 or curl 135.
GMs I find really help keep my back somewhat healthy. The more I do them, the better my back is. For awhile I was of the mindset that curls were unnecessary for PL type training, but as I added them back in, my shoulders hurt less. Go figure. We need to keep all these stabilizers strong.
Drove to a park, tried to take a nap. It is 85 and muggy, wasn’t going to happen. After ten minutes decided to drive to coffee shop and get a iced coffee instead. Then went to sports store to look for a neck harness. They used to carry them. Not anymore. Saw a bunch of the cheapest oly bars I have ever seen though. Would you trust squatting with an oly bar that, with 200lbs of weight, cost $75?
Its interesting what hurts/helps the big guys vs the little guys.
Im on the small end- and a higher volume of box/squats or sumo kills the hips
Good mornings hurt something going on in my neck/traps.
and it is amazing what sports stores carry or dont carry…

what’s a good morning and curls??![]()
good morning is something I rarely say to my coworkers, I usually just grimace and sip my coffee, and occassionaly scratch myself, until around 11. Then I usually sneak off to the gym.

box squats used to kill my hips. seems I have grown accustomed.
Damn dude-- my back and traps got bigger just READING your last workout ![]()
Last night I mowed the lawn, set to ‘manual’. Could tell my triceps were still fried from Friday. 40 minutes there, then 1 mile dog walk. Slept in this morning, will do some cardio crap over lunch just to keep myself occupied, and keep the metabolism going.
20 minutes elliptical, 20 minutes bike. Cleared a ton of emails while doing this.

I deleted a bunch of emails too… can I consider this cardio?
Nice work by the way… now, the nasty deload…
I should make a “deload hotline”… a number one can call when losing their freakin’ mind.

f n a… I am already crawling out of my skin… and I am not worried about my numbers all that much, as my bench coach stated ‘this is a meet for you to get a good workout in, and to show a few others how it is done’… meaning that it is unsanctioned, only $20 meet fees, etc. But still, I am just itchin already, and it is only Tuesday night…
BTW Meat, hear you were enjoying the USAPL raw nats… reviews, thoughts?

my buddy Brent (modi) did awesome DESPITE the meet. There are MANY reasons why i wouldn’t compete in that Fed. I don’t want to bash them since there are some that like it. I’ll PM you with my thoughts:)
