Mondays Suck

Does anyone get really somber and melancholy on Mondays? It’s been going on now for about a month now. I just feel like shit, and I hate everyone on Mondays. Maybe somone is like this on Wednesdays??? Maybe Cirrcadian rythmns?

FUCK NO. MONDAY IS LEG DAY.

OOOH GOD YES SQUATS.

The only time I felt that way about Mondays was when I really hated my job. Are you having too much fun on the weekends where you’re exhausted Monday morning?

Nope… I don’t.

I’m just glad that I have a job and i’m alive.

I kid you not.

Someone’s got a case of the Mondays!

Excellent point Hungry.

Mondays never really bothered me, even in jobs I didn’t really like. The only thing I truly hate though is how every single person I run into or know, or head on the fucking radio counts down the days till friday. Then the second the weekend is over, its just the same thing over and over. “god I can’t wait till friday”, “its monday already?”, “man friday is just 2 days away”, “zomg we have a 3 day weekend!!!”.

How can people live like that?

True.

That’s what I like about working out and having a job that I sort of like. You look forward to everyday, instead of trying to piss away 5 days to get to 2… I do look forward to weekends, don’t get me wrong. But, it’s nice having something to look forward to everyday.

Ahh problem found.

Which is it? The job or the fun weekends?

I agree w hungry. Mondays are the busiest at work but I do have energy from the weekend and mentally rested from not dealing with stupid people for 2 days lol. Fridays are the worst, I’m so exhausted from working all week and def don’t follow countdowns till friday

The funny thing about monday’s is that it’s the number one day that people do everything. i was just in the gym on saturday and the place was so empty it was great. I try to do Chest on Sunday because I superset it with Back so I’ll use a regular and incline bench… it’s a pain to change though I’ve done that when I had to.

So Lo and Behold on monday’s everyone is in the gym like something is different… the start of the new week I better get back into it and then they fall away during the week only to restart. I enjoy most days though I did use the word somber to describe how I felt later in the day (brutal workout) but it wasn’t cause it was monday…

Mondays suck when you think you have plenty of time to get to work, but forgot the hours changed that week. And you’re supposed there…now. This may have happened yesterday.

Mondays only suck after a weekend long bender. Other than that there is plenty to look foward to. Usually monday is the start of your workout cycle, so you are gunning for more weight or a higher rep count etc… In the fall/winter there is obviously monday night football. And over the summer i’m in a volleyball league on monday nights, so all in all, monday is just fine.

I have several facebook friends that express this sentiment multiple times per week through status updates. Sometimes I feel that way to but I don’t feel compelled to grouse about it on facebook. TC quoted this in an atomic dog and I always liked it regarding perception of time:

But the skull was laughing again; this time making a thoughtful, almost kindly noise. “Remember what I told you about time,” it said. “When I was alive, I believed â?? as you do â?? that time was at least as real and solid as myself, and probably more so. I said â??one oâ??clockâ?? as though I could see it, and â??Mondayâ?? as though I could find it on the map; and I let myself be hurried along from minute to minute, day to day, year to year, as though I were actually moving from one place to another. Like everyone else, I lived in a house bricked up with seconds and minutes, weekends and New Yearâ??s Days, and I never went outside until I died, because there was no other door. Now I know that I could have walked through the walls.”

Monday may as well be Friday for me. I have a job where I draw fucking goofy pictures all day… in my boxer shorts.

I should mention that when extremely busy, I’ll work weekends as well. But again, it’s just drawing silly pictures.

Back when I was an electrician I hated Mondays because we all had to go to the office, crowd into a shitty little room and the department head would bitch at us before he gave us our weekly schedule. There were never enough helpers to go around, so you had to play politics to get the help you needed to DO the job on time… it was like musical fucking chairs - someone was always left standing when the music stopped. I think that sadistic fucker planned it that way just so he had an excuse to yell at people every Monday. He tried that shit with me ONCE. I told him to fuck off and I threw my service truck keys at him and walked out. Spineless bastard chased me down and apologized.

Mondays can suck if you have a shitty job. Nowadays, I get Mondays confused with Tuesdays and Sundays… Working for yourself has it’s benefits.

I’ve never worked a regular Monday - Friday job so I have no idea what an actual Monday is. I’ve very rarely had two days off in a row, and I prefer it that way. Monday was my “Friday” so Thursday will be my “Monday” I guess. Will it be bad? Yes, because it’s Thursday at the hotel and the first wave of weekenders who’ve almost never traveled will be checking in and asking for views of the ocean/bay/mountains. :expressionless:

The weekends. I think the problem is having too much fun on the weekends. Here’s how it usually goes

Friday-Sit at home and watch movies and do homework
Saturday-Get shitfaced
Sunday-Recovery

But I have to say, I never feel 100% better by Monday. So let’s see if less alcohol does the trick.

Don’t see a reason to hate 1/7 of your life simply because it falls on Mondays.
