Momentum and Inertia

lookin ripped T! and the depth on your squats is just a pleasure to the eyes.

Those squats looked good to me. Was that @315?
That was only 235. I’m being forced to drill in better form at lower weights. If I break form while trying to move the weight fast, I don’t get to add pounds until it’s cleaned up. I still have a bit of butt-raise at the bottom, but it’s a lot better than a week ago.

I have another week of doing the lifts like this, depending on whether I fix a few final problems. Coach would have me at my previous weights, but my psychology requires progression - as I know it. He has something else in mind as regards progression - I just don’t know what it is. He assures me I’ll be adding plates pretty soon so I’m trying to be patient.

I much prefer the moving pictures of the Quebecois Amazon.

Thanks Frenchie!

eating isn’t hard. there are a bunch of high fat, high calory things out there incuding nuts, coconut milk, avocado oil… I could go on and on. No one needs to be hungry to down a spoonful of peanut butter.
BTW, maybe you’ll be pleased to know I’ve taken to eating these 500 calorie preservative-filled danishes in the morning. Before breakfast.

So I will eventually be jacked AND I will live forever.

Or at least I won’t rot when I die.

Thats probably for the best. Theres no sense in having a coach if you aren’t going to listen to them.

True, but it must be difficult to turn over all your training decisions to someone else though. I don’t know that I could, or would want to.

It’s pretty hard for me and I"m already screwing with the program, but I hope not to do it too much. I just really don’t know anything regarding Olympic weightlifting, so that makes it easier to listen and just do.

I used to do that but use my coach as more of a consultant now. He may suggest a program or course of action and I [often] modify as I think will work best for me. It is hard to totally defer to someone else and not necessarly desirable once one has some experience.

I think I could do it pretty easily. I’m used to a life time of team sports where you “know your role and shut your hole”.

No, you don’t.
I alternate, sometimes I just don’t feel like it. Even though all things considered I need it.
Other times, cravings are near impossible to fight. I usually the worst for you simple carbs, at the worst time…

I find you guys discipline very helpful.

danish? well, at least you’re having a healthy breakfast. most important snack of the day;

I hope you are getting coffee with that danish.

why don’t you have the union stage hand breakfast
a cigarette, a coffee a bacon egg and cheese sandwich with a donut on top.

Took an extra day off. Did my some good.

Snatch complex
3 rounds @bar
5 rounds @105

C&J complex
3 rounds @95
5 rounds @145

High-Bar Squat
5x3 @245

MUCH easier than last time, but I was just as tired. Compressed the rest periods somewhat. Right shoulder is behaving better. I’m using it better, contracting the traps at the top of the jerk. Haven’t been doing that on the right side so the humerus kind of flops around in the socket. No wonder it hurts.

2011-2-28

Hang Clean + Full Clean
1x5 sets @155

Clean Pull
2x5 sets @175

Front Squat plus Push Jerk
1x5 sets @135

This was a refreshing change. Nice easy day.

Those HC’s are looking better and better each time you post them.

Sorry I’m not being so chatty on other folks’ threads - been studying my ass off lately and since my brains are there, I got nothin’ left.

that’s okay, we forgive you. whatcha learnin?
