  1. Sticking up for family… good for you, kid. That shows character. Some people around here are like summer in the schoolyard – no fuckin’ class. Pay them no heed. Noise to signal ratio is important.

  2. In the name of God, try to type your responses coherently. No reason you can’t be strong and master the English language, too.

Use the articles linked to above. The wonderful thing about the T-Nation is the vast amount of information available here. Most people defer to authority without thinking. Dr. Berardi’s not only got some outstanding ideas on nutrition, but he worked hard to put that PhD behind his name. Most people will defer to it without thinking. Articles by the good doctor, such as the one above, may go far in convincing your mother that your internal organs aren’t, in fact, going to leap out of your body and leave you screaming on the floor simply because you had one protein shake too many.

haha ok i will try

You’re 5’10 and 270!?!?

What do you run the 40 in?

I’m sorry, but when I played the line, I always hated you short/hefty kids.

Somehow they always were a nuisance to me.

Anyways, with that build, you gotta work on your speed and agility. Do your hang cleans and never slack off on them.

Why you hated us? Im not that slow for my size.

I didn’t hate all of them. I just hated this one kid particularly in a game. He was a OT and was 5’11 and around 310-320 pounds (Resembled that of a short michelin man). I was a DT, 6’4" and 290 at the time and when sometimes I got a little too high, he was all over me. Wasn’t that bad, but gave me some learning experience. He came out of a 4-point stance too, so from from games thereon, I used the 4-point stance.

For you during practice, try coming out of a near 4-point stance and work on staying on balance. Try not to come up too high when coming out of that stance also. And if you place Defense try it also.

If you’re an excellent athlete and can use your shortness and weight and including a 4-point stance. You’ll be good to go. I mean speed will also help too, but I guess you said you have that already.

aloha!

Leave him alone asshole.

Now, on the subject of creatine. I wouldn’t bother until you’ve got as far as you can go without taking it- it’s a naturally occuring amino acid. You’re still a teenager by all appearances, and your body is heaving with the stuff. If you need to take it, just don’t tell your mum, yeah?

What now? Since when do teenagers have higher endogenous creatine production?

-Dan

Since the first hairy proto-human punked out on weed and discovered this?

Piss off. It’s not like I’m telling him to “stay off the creatine man, it’ll fuck up your kidneys DUDE” or anything. If you can show me that teenagers do not have higher endogenous creatine production, I’m listening.

Down boy, it wasn’t a personal attack.

A few gems from this site you mentioned though:

“Creatine also increases oxygen uptake by muscle tissue and improves performance.”

Nope. Not even close to how creatine improves performance.

“the toned look often improves one’s body image”

Not sure what that really means - are they saying bigger muscles will improve self-esteem?

"Q. What’s the right dosage? A. Scientists are still trying to find the ideal dosage of creatine that works best. For non-athletes, particularly those who are interested in just toning their muscles and adding just a little more bulk, about 3 to 5 grams of creatine a day for a month is sufficient to provide results. This amount of creatine, often about a "

And that’s where that ends. Wonder where they were going with that idea. At least they had general dosage guidelines right.

“Until we learn more about the long-term effects of creatine on the body, I recommend you take a break after a month’s use and then cycle your creatine use.”

That’s just not correct - we know your body will upregulate endogenous production even after years of use.

“There is a gradual decline of muscle mass over days and weeks after stopping creatine, but gains return quickly when creatine is reinstated.”

I hope to g-d he just means sarcoplasmic volume reduces slightly.

The dubious Q&A doesn’t say anything about teenagers having higher endogenous creatine production.

Just so you know, I think it’s perfectly safe to take creatine as a teenager and would recommend those serious about sports performance use it in addition to a solid diet and sound training. Just don’t believe everything you read on the internet, most sources are either incorrect or way behind the current literature/research. I’ve also never seen anything about teenagers having higher production - since it’s not on that site, where did you hear it?

To be honest, it was just some guy on a martial arts site.

Record a 2 hour long video of what a drug user does(using drugs, breaking the law, etc.) and then tell her you could be much worse.
I think todays parents need to focus more on how their kids are doing and not on every little thing they do or don’t agree with.
I think she needs to realize what a good,level-headed son she has;that you could be doing much worse.
Taking care of your body in todays world isn’t a crime…yet.

I’d ask him where he heard that - I’ve never heard of it anywhere before. Not saying it couldn’t be, but I’ve done a lot of reading in professional literature on creatine and never run across it.

-Dan

Yes, both hands on the ground, while leaning forward with your head up. With your weight situated over your hands so when you get off the ball, all weight will then go into contact with your opposer (if you stay on balance mind you). However, try it out before hand and if you don’t feel comfortable with it then don’t do it. From then on just try the best stance that feels good and helps you best.

Sometimes I forget that in the 5’10" area, it’s an average height for males. I’ve always been surrounded by tall people my whole life so I forget that. Anyways, I am sure you’ll grow another inch or two which is good so don’t worry.

best of luck!

aloha!

Fair enough, I’ll look it up sometime.
