Thanks bud. I feel it. A wave of big pulling.

5/24/12

Bench 5x280 DAT BOUNCE
Dips 13x55 PR
Flat DB Bench 5x8x90
Cable Flies 3x20 big boobs
DB Hammer Curls 4x6x80
DB Curl 3x12x35
Sprints

Very tired and didn’t really push anything today. Carb backloading is too hard for me, and yes I’m a pussy. To get what I need to do is just too much right now, especially with 10hours of manual labor a day. I’ve gotten leaner in only a week on CBL, so it sucks to not keep this up. I’m just going to not eat like shit.

Sprints were a spur of the moment thing with a bud from ROTC. He’s 6’4", lean and athletic, and I still kept up with him on sprints. I’m happy I’m kinda fast.

Here’s a back pic I snapped last night. I’ve gotten leaner. There’s a front pic that I’ll post if anyone requests. Be warned, it is straight dick due to compression shorts.

lol as long as it’s not loop-d-loop dick, I’m down.

SSP 6x185, 10x155
Paused CGBP 5x245, 10x205
DB Front Raise 9x50

Cable Side Raise 12x45
Rope Pushdown 16x150

5 rounds:
a. Sledge 20 swings
b. DB Press 10x40
c. 1 min rest

Good day. This is how I like to train and what works for me. It’s hard, but I enjoy it. Conditioning was fun and difficult. Will keep doing that circuit.

Just looked back in logs to where I was a year ago. I’m pleased with some aspects and unhappy with some, but at least the unhappy aspects have an explanation.

Here’s some rough idea of how my main lifts have improved.

Bodyweight: 15-20lbs lighter
Deadlift: 50-60lbs higher
Bench: 20-30lbs higher
Squat: 40-50lbs higher(different stance)
Press: 30-40lbs higher

I feel like the improvements could be better, especially in the bench/squat area. However, I now weigh significantly less than I did last year. I’m carrying more muscle and am leaner, so that’s a plus, though I nowhere close to where I need to be. The hernia also greatly affected my squat, but that’s finally starting to turn around.

Overall, I’ve made progress, but I’m not happy with it. I see where I need to improve and now I just need to get there.

Good stuff man. No one is ever really happy with their improvements. The important thing is that improvements were made and will still be made.

^^ Truth. Being satisfied would suck. Where the hell is the fun in that? Figuring out stuff to improve upon, then working at it, brings about a great sense of accomplishment.
That is all for now, young grasshopper.

Thanks bud. I really think I could benefit being around more people who have similar strength levels/goals, but it’s few and far between.

Yes sensei.
I think I too often fall into the trap of trying to improve too much at once.

5/27/12

Deadlift 1x515 super fast, but hamstrings are too tired to pull well(aka it was a stifflegger)
Paused HB Squat 5x315 awesome variation. long pause(like 4 seconds)
Seath Leg Press 8x225, 8x315, 8x405 so awesome. This makes me like leg pressing(even though it sucks)
Leg Ext. a lotx200
Paused Dec. Situp 4x10x25
Standing Calf Raise 3x8x315
Sprints 7

Tired and had a headache all day. Went to a good friends wedding last night. I don’t drink, but loud noises and people wear me out. I really wanted to pull heavy today, but my hamstrings told me no, so I listened.

Paused hbs were hard and a good way to train that didn’t require me to put that much weight on my back. Going to work those up.

Seath leg pressing was awesome and will definitely stay in the mix because my leg strength is just downright bad. I’m going to blame some of that on running a lot, but it’s mainly because I’m weak.

5/28/12

BL Ground Row 10x275, 3x315
Hang High Pull 5x225, 3x275, 5x295 PR
Flat DB Bench 7x110 PR, 14.5x90 PR
HS Chest 4.5x335, 7.5x295
1a. WG Pulldown 4x8x150
1b. Cable Fly 4x12x45
no rest
2a. WG Chins 3x10xBW
2b. Pushups 3x30xBW

Pretty good day. Apparently I’m looking a lot bigger. Don’t know the reason because I’m still weak and fat, but I’ll take it. DB Bench felt good all around. Ground rows were good; will work those and squats more to build my deadlift. I’m getting that gorilla hanging chest look. And by gorilla I mean I walk around looking like an angry retard.

I may be doing a meet in August, but that’s still up in the air due to various factors. Right now I’m just focusing on building strength and muscle before I lose it all during my MLIII year of ROTC.

Thanks bud. My back is my only bodypart that is moderately impressive, and therefore the only one I post pics of haha. I’m aware of my hiding.

5/29/2012

HB Squat 5x390 PR pretty easy considering fatigue level
Seath Leg Press 8x455 PR
SSP 3x195 bad idea. shoulders tired
DB Curl 10x50 PR, 18x35 PR
a. Sledge 5x20
b. DB Hammer Curl 5x8x40
c. Rest 1 min

Pretty tired today. Rained a lot and that depresses me. Shoulders were too shot, so I didn’t push anything and just cut it. Going to train them tomorrow, probably with tris.

Conditioning literally killed my arms. I couldn’t feel my left thumb by the end from the curls and catching the hammer. I yelled “I am Robert of the House Baratheon, the First of his Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm” while I was swinging the sledge.

keep up the good work

Thank you. At least one person cares haha

Man, your squat seems to be skyrocketing.
