They’re pretty ugly by most people’s estimation, but all the people who tell me that they look stupid and don’t help have a lot weaker pull and a much smaller back/traps than me, so I don’t really care. Haven’t trained in a couple of days in prep for my PT test. Did well on it, so now I can officially contract with the Army. Good times. I’m heading to Louisiana tomorrow, so training will be none until Sunday. Speaking of training, now that ROTC’s basically done for the semester, I’m going to run a cycle of Smolov Jr for my bench. First time in the gym in about a week. Got back from Louisiana today and felt like training. One of the cool parts of the trip was seeing family I haven’t seen in about 6 years. I got a lot of questions along the lines of “Do you play football?”,“When did you start lifting?”. It’s nice that I at least kinda look like I lift weights now. Did the suicide work in there just because I’ve been fat and sassy the last couple of days.
Also, I saw Aqua post some pics, so I thought I should do the same. He may be hella stronger than me, but I think my back looks almost dece. And yeah I know I’m fat, I’m working on it.
Always great to get comments validating your progress in the gym. As for me being stronger than you, I think it is quite the contrary. I’m always striving to catch up to you.

Not a bad start to smolov jr. Paused the first rep on every set as guided by bear. None of the sets was really hard and I can definitely see how this will help my form. Squatting tomorrow. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it, but I’m going to be running a 5/3/1 setup for my squat and dead during this 3week smolov cycle. I’m coming around again to something of an organized program haha.

Haven’t used the trap bar in a while and it shows. I’ll post a video sometime later, but it was pretty heavy. Not sure I’m going to keep with smolov jr. I just hate training that way. I’m kinda starting to get a focus on where I want to be in the future.
No point following something you don’t fully enjoy or believe in. Some would say program hopping, but I feel it’s better to switch to something you enjoy and believe will work.
Had to train in a Gold’s Gym today, so I got my money’s worth out of my day pass. I was feeling my oats, especially on the dips. Didn’t push deadlifts too hard since I squatted yesterday, but they felt pretty good. Nice to see I’m still pretty strong even in a somewhat fatigued state. I may try to get a job at that Gold’s Gym during the summer; it was pretty nice.

Something of a recovery-esque day. My back, upper and lower, was thrashed from yesterday. I think it was the CSR’s, oh and the deadlifts. Made myself a cool self-releaser. I rolled up 3 golf balls in a tube sock. Hurts so good. This was my first time front squatting since the ab injury and everything was really light. Hope to get my front squat better than ever now.
