Best before this was 3x505, 2x515, or 1x550. I was hoping for 2 today, but 3 just seemed so much better.

Today was a meh day. Did some volume for press and didn’t go heavy. I’ve got a pt test on Tuesday, so this will be the last session before then. Think I’m going to start working front squats back into the rotation now that my ab is feeling better.

Sorry for all the words, I didn’t post for like 2 weeks though. I haven’t really lost weight, but I weigh about 187-189 in the morning now.
Overhead arm claps are jumping jacks to you silly civilians. Holding the tiger overhead is easy when your feet don’t hit the ground.

Hey Matt glad I just found your log. Awesome lifting going on in here. Glad to see that more military guys lifting some heavy weights. I’ll definitely be following your log. What kind of a split have you been doing?
Howd the PT test go?
I don’t really follow a split. Sometimes I train specific movements, sometimes I hit bodyparts. The rest of my life is really scheduled and organized, so I do the exact opposite in the gym.
PT test was fine for the first one in about 6 months. Maxed pushups, 93 on situps, and a 14:54 run. Not being able to run or do situps really hurt my score, but it’ll improve quick. I’m going to extra PT with my battalion now, so it’s 5 days a week. Should get the run down to 14 or just under.

Deficit Deadlift 1x515 PR

Pretty good day. Got a vid of 485 and 515 from the deficit. 485 was hard because my hips were too high at the start, you can see the difference on 515. The bar still got out a little bit in front of me but I pulled it back in. Being smart again and doing stuff that helps, and ditching that which doesn’t.

Somewhat loose form, pretty upright bb rows. Kinda a mixture between a shrug and a bent over row. Most people say they don’t do anything and look like I’m just throwing weight around, but they help my deadlift. I can train the muscles I use to deadlift, without taxing my lower back too much so I can do them more often.

Sounds like a win-win situation. Working your DLing muscles without as much lower back fatigue.
