Um so I just skimmed through your log. Holy shit you’re strong. I especially liked the cougar story. Jealous.
What do you eat, and what do you attribute your amazingly quick progress to? ARe you still doing ROTC and are you planning on going into the military? Amazing. [/quote]
Thanks for reading. I’m not strong at all, I’ve just got a decent pull because of my monkey arms.
As per the eating question: too much is the simplest answer. I aim for 350-400g of protein a day, and everything else kinda falls where it lies. I’m working on leaning up right now, so carbs and some fats are being watched and reduced, but not eliminated. I’ve got a pretty busy schedule, so not much time is spent on food prep. Once I lean up to where I’m comfortable, I’ll probably be around 170lbs or so. I’m really not a big guy at all.
I wouldn’t say I’ve had quick progress, there’s a lot of guys who are a lot stronger and bigger than me. The main things I would attribute progress to is my training environment and mindset. I’m an officer in the Clemson weight club, and my friends in the club help me a lot. They don’t really keep me accountable or anything, but they got me started off on the right foot.
Per mindset, I really hate failing. Like I get physically upset if I don’t get a PR. I’m getting better at containing the tantrums that ensue after a bad lift, and they always stay in the gym. I don’t take baggage with me home. I used to have really bad anger issues as a kid, and lifting helps me get the rage out.
I’m still in Army ROTC, in my MLII year. I’m not contracted yet, but I do plan on commissioning. I don’t like a lot of the things we do in ROTC, but at the end of the day, I’m really happy I’m in it and I can go to bed feeling somewhat proud of myself.
Sorry for the long post, I’m kinda tired and not feeling very concise.
