I dont know how many people are following the WBC?

Please MLB, have Bob Costas do the play by play for the playoffs and world series. It’s amazing how much more entertaining baseball is when it doesnt have joe buck and the other idiot trying to do commentary.
Costas does games for MLB network correct? As long as half of the playoffs and all of the World Series are all on Fox we will continue to hear Joe fucking Buck.
It’s a shame, and really doing a disservice to baseball.

Did I hear correctly…

Hanley Ramirez out a couple of months, for trying hard? In the WBC?

Oh the irony

Yankees just traded for Vernon Wells

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Well hes not worth the pricetag, but he certainly makes the team better with all the injuried they’ve had and still has the potential to hit .250 with 35 hrs, especially in that park. However, he is just as likely to hit .210 with 10 hrs. It’s definitely a gamble, and if the Yankees are goin to go anywhere this season they will have to get a little lucky.

Come on man.

He had a .258 OBP over the last 2 years.

Not that I expect him to play 150 games, but if he did, I’d expect 20-25 HRs and a bunch of strikeouts

Alright, the season is quickly approaching… have we done predictions yet?

An interesting point on the Vernon Wells trade - If they’re willing to spend that sort of cash on Vernon Wells, why did they let Russell Martin walk?

I still have no idea who their starting catcher is this year.

THANK GOD

They arent paying that much at all, 14 million of the 40 owed, and they received a good amount of money from the WBC because of the Texeira injury. It is in reality a low cost no brainer move

Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart will be splitting time.

This was not a gamble…not at all see above post.

It’s still a gamble to the extent that he’ll play regularly and could stink.

Yankees have a very small margin of error this season.

no its not a gamble, because they spent, relatively speaking not too much cash, and he is not taking the spot of someone that is the for all intents and purposes better, when Granderson comes back he will be a 4th outfielder…not a gamble at all.

Edit…He and Boesch will round out the outfield corp, as a unit its actually OK at full strength.

Geddy Lee throws out the first pitch in the Blue Jays’ home opener.

Metallica does the National Anthem in the Giants’ home opener.

How fitting.

pretty cool

Alex Rodriguez will make more this season than all of the Houston Astros combined.

Rodriguez, who will miss at least the first half of the season, tops the Major Leagues with a $29 million salary.

Pretty sure the lowest payroll team is around $50 million.

Jesus, I didn’t follow what they did in the off season but it’s impressive that they could find $35 million to cut from their prior year payroll, which was a measly $60 million.

This will probably be the only time this year we will be able to say this, but the Houston Astros have the best record in baseball.

Did Pablo Sandoval gain 50 pounds this offseason again?
