Game 1 was no fluke. But this one was.
Are you telling me the Padres don’t have good pitchers!? Haha.
I have no idea I’ve hardly followed baseball much this year except for my team (Boston)
Well they are pretty bad for the most part.

Jays, Giants and Padres are killing the reverse standings!

Hahaha got to give it to you. Still find a way to gloat about your Giants, however small it is, even though they are simply a pathetic team this year. I was sure Zito’s ERA would be over 4. It’s almost 6. Tim Lincecum has had a year that mirrors Kevin Costner in “For Love of the Game.” Except he is 29 instead of 40. 21 game out of 1st. Who cares if a player on a team 21 games out of 1st hits 3 hr’s in a game.
I’m sorry, could you type in bold print please? The shine coming off the two replica World Series rings that adorn my pinkies are making it too hard for me to read your post.
REPLICA

How about Soriano? Guy is just tearing it up since he came back to the Yankees. He now has 404 Hrs, is one of three players in history to have a 40-40 season (and, as far as we know, the only clean player to do it.) Besides being signed to a horrible contract and underperforming with the Cubs, he has put together a nice little career. Hall of Fame?? I think if he gets to 450 hrs (remember he was primarily a 2nd baseman the first half of his career) I think he has a legit shot.

Oh, A rod is hitting .300. If I was a betting man (and I am,) he will be playing some baseball next year. The Arod drama will go on!

Now that A-rod is helping the Yankees they will want him playing. Either way I hope they have to pay him all the money he is owed.

Soriano was a great addition at the right time, could have come a month or so earlier… 2 hrs last night against the Os. Speaking of Os… Mark Reynolds is another guy playing his ass off.

I’ve come around 180-degrees on A-Roid… he’s playing pretty good ball for a guy with 2 repaired hips. I’d like to see him back in 2014. Their unsung hero has got to be Brett Gardner. Not much on HR status, but he gets on base, steals and almost nothing gets past him on the field. I see him as the guy holding the team together.

Well Matty, the Yanks were officially eliminated from postseason contention today. Here’s your avatar for the next month. Wear it with pride.

Haha, good call.

Looks like the NL is pretty much set. Should be interesting to see who gets the wildcard in the AL. What happens if all three teams have the same record?

Do you have an avatar picked out for me, or what?

Nah, just wanted to gloat. I don’t really frequent these boards anymore.

What a crazy no-hitter by Alvarez for the Marlins today.

What are everybodys prediction for the playoffs?

I got the Rays beating the Rangers in the one game playoff.

The Indians beat the rays to win the Wildcard.

The Pirates to beat the Reds to get the other Wildcard.

NL

St. Louis over Pitt in 5.
LA over Atlanta in 4.

LA over St. Louis in 7.

AL

Boston over Cleveland in 4.
Detroit over Oakland in 5.

Boston over Detroit in 5.

World Series

Boston over LA in 6.

You all know that is the World Series everybody wants. The two teams that had the big trade last year. I want the Dodgers to make it just so they can lose.

Anonymity I think you should give DB this as an avatar.

We came a Cleveland Indians loss away from having a three-way tie for the 2 wild card spots yesterday. What happens in that scenario? Which two would play game 163 and which team would await the winner?

Pretty exiting baseball though. Credit all three teams for playing their ass of the last few weeks. 10 straight for the Indians, and the Rays and Rangers each won 8 of their last 10 (albeit and easier schedule for the Rangers.)

Predictions:

AL:
Rangers over Rays

WC: Rangers over Indians
DS: Rangers over Red Sox, Tigers over Oakland (Oakland never wins DS)
ALCS: Rangers over Tigers

NLWC: Reds over Pirates
NLDS: Dodgers over Braves, Reds over Cardinals
NLCS: Dodgers over Reds

WS: Rangers over Dodgers

That would be a great series to watch with the backstory. Same with Indians v Red Sox with Francona. October is shaping up nicely.

Haha, better start a new one. We will forgive you since the playoffs hadn’t technically started yet.

Oh well. The Reds are looking like losers today down 5-1 so there goes that prediction too. I’m just going to sit back and root for the Indians-Red Sox ALCS and a Dodgers-Red Sox WS. Rangers…

I’ll be rooting for the Braves but give them about a .01% chance of winning the first series.
