RA dickey has not been “really” good your fucking nuts, he has been extremely pedestrian for your so called “ace” but wont admit it…28 strikeouts in 36 innings a 4.50 era and 2-4 is not really good. I would expect Dickey to be like this the rest of the year.
Right that’s what happens with one horrendous game and only one month into the season.

Pitchers have no control over wins so pitching wins are meaningless.

I mean, did you see him pitch against the Yankees?
Which is why I put that last, as it doesent mean much other than to compound my point that he has been a disappointment. Of course I have seen the game against the yankees especially when retreads like Overbay and Boesch smacked homers against him. I mean an ace can’t lose to this shit lineup of the Yankees.
So because shitty players homered off him, it therefore is a bad start to you? What about the good hitters in the lineup he dominated like Cano? How does that fact work into your calculations?

He gave up 4 hits in 7 innings 1BB and 4K. That’s a good outing no matter how you slice it.
No matter how you slice it, his ERA is still more than a full run below Zito’s at 4.50 to 3.29.

Zito’s game log thus far:

7 IP 0 runs 3 hits
7 IP 0 runs 7 hits
2.2 IP 9 runs 8 hits
7 IP 0 runs 5 hits
3.2 IP 1 run (5 unearned) 6 hits
It looks like Vogelson and Zito will be pitching the games in Toronto.

I have tickets to the Vogelsong game.

Just saw this.

Ha

Mickey Mantle corked his bat.

If you want an opportunity to catch a ball at the game, I’d sit beyond the left field fence, right underneath the hotel out there. Vogelsong has looked like absolute shit with his location so far this year. Last start he made he was up with everything and it was a complete disaster. If he were facing a real team instead of the fucking Padres he would have given up seven or eight bombs. As it stands, he only gave up three in that game, if memory serves me.

And what the FUCK is with the Jays’ announcers accusing Bucholz of doctoring the ball? How fucking classless can two people be? Did you hear what Dennis Eckersley had to say about Jack Morris levying accusations? It was hysterical! He said now that Jack Morris has finally got himself an actual job in baseball he should just keep his mouth shut and call the games instead of making classless accusations (which, in my opinion, was just a way to distract from the fact that the lowly Blue Jays offense was simply getting it shoved right up there ass all game!), and then Eck said something about how Bucholz shouldn’t have to listen to that sort of shit from someone who can’t even get into the Hall of Fame! I loved it!

What a bunch of fucking jerks the Jays have calling their games.

I get what you’re saying, but I’ve already purchased tickets just to right of the homeplate section.

If what you’re saying is true, it won’t be pretty. Rogers Centre has had the most home runs hit in it this year…

Yeah I don’t like the commentators who cover the game.

People constantly rip on Buck Martinez and Jack Morris for how terrible they are. Earlier this year Buck Martinez stated that Doubles are better than home runs because home runs are rally killers. That should give you insight to the quality of commentating he and Morris provide.

JJ has been put on the DL but it was backdated so he should be back for that start.

Tricep inflammation.

Kershaw throwing the nasty. Sweating yet DB?

In the spirit of rajraj I will offer up a gif.

messed that one up

RA Dickey so far

@ Yankees 7IP, 3 ER

@ BAL 6IP 4ER

@ CHW 6IP 0 ER

@ KAN 6.1IP 1ER

@BOS 4.2IP 7ER - he sucked bad

@CLE 6IP 3ER - 2 of the runs were as a result of passed balls.

Soooo 1 terrible start, one mediocre start and the rest were good. Results do not reflect performance in a small sample size.
You kidding me with this? This is your ACE we’re talking about. He’s had 2 good starts, the rest are not great at all. Even 7 innings 3 runs is respectable, but more is expected of the ACE.

That is nasty, lol.
Anonymity wrote:

Not sweating at all. Besides, as nasty as he was throwing in the first five innings, he looked far more mortal in the 6th when the Giants touched him up for a triple, double and single. And the Giants won the game anyways, so I’m really not sweating it.

Matt Cain has looked right as rain tonight. He’s been struggling a bit with his mechanics this season but the last two starts he’s looked much better from a mechanical standpoint. His last start he still had a rough time in one of the innings, but tonight he’s looked much smoother and freer with his release point.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before he returned to proper form. His velocity wasn’t down and his motion is so compact that I knew he would eventually solve whatever issue with his motion that he was having. He’s back. Now if only Vogelsong could figure things out.

Vogelsong looked like he was back in top form last night until the disastrous 5th when he was charged with something like 7 earned runs. But until that inning it looked like he was really sharp as well, so I expect him to build on that start and maintain the same mechanics he had in the first four innings for even longer the next time out.

By the way Raj, how you like Dickey now, eh? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I heard he was booed off the mound yesterday after getting shelled yet again. Getting nervous about our little bet, or what?

RA Dickey: 2-5 5.36 ERA 8 HRs allowed 42 IP
Barry Zito: 3-1 3.06 ERA 2 HRs allowed 32 IP

130 games left to play.

The Reyes injury + Melky’s non performance has basically killed the Jays offense.

They just hit solo shots.

This month is going to make or break the Jays. If they don’t play above .500 baseball this month, they’re done.

That sounds all well and good, and for an offensive player there is obviously still plenty of time to turn things around, but Dickey’s had 7 starts out of appoximately 30-32 starts over the course of a year. That’s a sizable chunk of the season at around 20+%.

More like 27. As in 27 starts left for Dickey.

And?

The bet is against Barry Zito who has been terrible the last 5 years versus a pitcher who has been good 3 years straight including a Cy Young.

Take a glance at the teams Dickey has faced this month (Jays schedule is tough at the beginning and easy in the 2nd half) and comapare it to Zito.

Once SF’s schedule toughens up, I bet Zito will return to his old usual self.

Schedule schmedule, when your ace is throwing beach balls and getting shelled I don’t think it will matter who he’s playing.

I actually don’t care much about either pitcher but you called my comment on Zito “absurd” so I’m rooting for DB to win this bet, lol.
