Cabrera just hit a home run that landed in fucking Lake Michigan. Holy wow.[/quote]

Yeah but a guy with a .200 avg so far shouldnt be waiving his hand in front of his face when he hits a garbage time solo shot.

Fister is really making a name for himself though. Guy knows how to pitch

That’s a fair point. Just loved the hit.

In comes Benoit, should be DET’s game here.

Yeah it was a bomb. I just hate when superstars act like theyve never done this before. I guess I expect too much from a clown like Cabrera. I also guess its hard not to be disappointed by a lot of guys after growing up watching Jeter never commit a single faux pas in his career.

Remember that horrible arrest he had a while back right before an important game (if I remember that last part correctly)? Not surprised by that tonight, he’s obviously immature.

I thought Fister would be way worse coming to DET, I was dead wrong.

Here is the thing. Sucks to see the team in disarray, but I don’t think he is as good of a GM as the Cubs, and his assistant will prob get the job.

Fuck it. I’m a sox fan, I’m used to losing teams and doing stupid shit all the time.

I will tell ya what, if Theo brings a ring to the Cubs I’ll be the first to stand in line and shake his hand. But, I doubt it is happening. They will have a great farm system though.

I’m also pretty surprised by Fister, guy does not have overpowering stuff by any means, just knows how to pitch.

The thing is, his W-L total was deceiving in Seattle because he had the worst offensive support of any pitcher in the AL.

Then he goes to Det and his stats are arguably inflated because of the competition he faced was less than stellar. Kansas, Oakland, what was left of Cleveland etc etc.

I have a hard time seeing Boston not making it next year, even if their management situation is screwed up right now.

Also the World is more likely to end in 2012 than the Cubs breaking the curse of the billy goat.

Anyone else surprised by Leyland’s use of both Benoit and Valverde after they pitched last night? Benoit pitched 1 1/3 innings yesterday and Valverde 2 full innings.

I thought they should’ve stretched Fister to 8IP then used either Benoit or Valverde for the 9th.

Its the playoffs. They can rest in november

I wasn’t surprised, they were down 0-2 and you have to make sure it’s not your last game of the season. But, it will be interesting to see if they have all their stuff if both called on for a third straight night tonight.

True. But what I’m saying is, Valverde has now pitched 3 inning in 2 days and there’s not even 24 hours between today’s game (3:30) and yesterdays start time. How effective will he be today if they needed him?

I wonder if Leyland will throw him out again, they play again tomorrow.

So where does it end? If they both pitch tonight, would you throw them out tomorrow?

I would try my best to only use one tonight. But I’d have a quick hook if someone else falters.

Also I’d pray we win by 6 runs and don’t need either.

Dude, Hell hath thawed. The sox are going, and quickly, back to foreverasecondteircontender.jpg, and all is right in the world.

Valverde will pitch any time Leyland wants him to. Every single game in the playoffs is a must win game. Hes not going to blow his arm out pitching 3 days in a row.

For all we know, Valverde has a rubber arm and can throw 20 pitches a night 5 days a week. He didnt blow a save all year. That says that either Leyland knows how to manage his bullpen and that fatigue isnt a big factor for how effective he is. Probably a combo of both.

If his arm hurt then he likely wouldnt pitch but if he still feels good, theres no reason at all to keep him out of a game that he needs to be in.

Haha, at least ticket prices will drop… hopefully.

lolz been reading about the Red Sox drama this year, this is what I found:

Here are all the sordid and largely speculated details:

Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey spent their off-nights drinking beer in the clubhouse and eating chicken and biscuits, rather than cheering on their teammates;

Several starting pitchers ignored pleas from training staff to stay in shape;

Along with worries over a new contract, Terry Franconaâ??s prescription drug abuse, marital problems and nervousness for his son serving overseas distracted him from his duties as manager;

Jason Varitek was a lame duck captain who took no leadership role in the clubhouse;

David Ortiz acted as a disruption, committing two public acts of selfishness down the stretch;

Kevin Youkilis and Jacoby Ellsburyâ??s feud from last season made them both distant with the rest of the team;

Adrian Gonzalez didnâ??t accept a leadership role on the team;

Theo Epstein didnâ??t do enough to shore up the pitching staff and spent too much money on Carl Crawford; and

Ownership was obviously distracted from the Red Sox by its several other ventures, including most unforgivably, soccer.

Gonzo & Crawford get a pass in my mind. They came into that lockerroom, looked at each other and said “fuck these clowns” and kept their mouths shut, and good for them.

The stabs at Tito in that article are a low blow and fucking retarded jabs by ownership trying to save face.

Youk needs to get over himself and let sleeping dogs die for christ sake.

Becket and Lackey are overpaid cock smugglers, shame Lester involved himself in that shit.

Ellsbury is a bitch, no doubt, but pretty good at what he does, so people need to figure out a way to be a teammate to the kid.

All in all, this is great. The fans are PISSED, and miserable. It is like the “good ole days” lol.

In other news, Ryan Howard is riding a rascal scooter around Whole Foods.
