MLB 2011 Part Two

Gonzo & Crawford get a pass in my mind. They came into that lockerroom, looked at each other and said “fuck these clowns” and kept their mouths shut, and good for them.

The stabs at Tito in that article are a low blow and fucking retarded jabs by ownership trying to save face.

Youk needs to get over himself and let sleeping dogs die for christ sake.

Becket and Lackey are overpaid cock smugglers, shame Lester involved himself in that shit.

Ellsbury is a bitch, no doubt, but pretty good at what he does, so people need to figure out a way to be a teammate to the kid.

All in all, this is great. The fans are PISSED, and miserable. It is like the “good ole days” lol.

So have you seen the details of Theo Epstein’s move? Apparently he’s being traded. The Red Sox may get cash or prospects in return from the Red Sox.

I’ve never heard that happening before.

Dude, Hell hath thawed. The sox are going, and quickly, back to foreverasecondteircontender.jpg, and all is right in the world.

Haha, at least ticket prices will drop… hopefully.

lolz been reading about the Red Sox drama this year, this is what I found:

Here are all the sordid and largely speculated details:

Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey spent their off-nights drinking beer in the clubhouse and eating chicken and biscuits, rather than cheering on their teammates;

Several starting pitchers ignored pleas from training staff to stay in shape;

Along with worries over a new contract, Terry Franconaâ??s prescription drug abuse, marital problems and nervousness for his son serving overseas distracted him from his duties as manager;

Jason Varitek was a lame duck captain who took no leadership role in the clubhouse;

David Ortiz acted as a disruption, committing two public acts of selfishness down the stretch;

Kevin Youkilis and Jacoby Ellsburyâ??s feud from last season made them both distant with the rest of the team;

Adrian Gonzalez didnâ??t accept a leadership role on the team;

Theo Epstein didnâ??t do enough to shore up the pitching staff and spent too much money on Carl Crawford; and

Ownership was obviously distracted from the Red Sox by its several other ventures, including most unforgivably, soccer.

I think this fire sale because of what happened is foolish. I know bostonistas call for heads every time something doesn’t go their way but who the hell are they going to get to replace these guys that are definitely better? Epstein I think isn’t that big a deal, it’s easy to be a GM when you have deep pockets, but who’s going to replace Tito? He’s the only manager alive that was ever able to take this team to the WS and win it.
I blame the players. I think they are going to be luke warm next year.

Well, it’s close to being official according to this article:

sees CB jumping for joy
Here is the thing. Sucks to see the team in disarray, but I don’t think he is as good of a GM as the Cubs, and his assistant will prob get the job.

Fuck it. I’m a sox fan, I’m used to losing teams and doing stupid shit all the time.

I will tell ya what, if Theo brings a ring to the Cubs I’ll be the first to stand in line and shake his hand. But, I doubt it is happening. They will have a great farm system though.
I have a hard time seeing Boston not making it next year, even if their management situation is screwed up right now.

Also the World is more likely to end in 2012 than the Cubs breaking the curse of the billy goat.
I think the Cubs are actually cursed, they will never make it in my life time and that’s fine with me. That organization has chewed up and spit out many, many great minds and talents.

Boston I think is going to suck next year. A team is only as good as it’s management and their management sucks.

This lol, so bad this.

You know the funnest part, Yankee fans that say: “What rivalry?” And that being true again, even though it was only untrue for like 3-4 years.

Ron Washington walks Miguel Cabrera in a tie game with nobody on base with 1 out.

Can’t believe he did that.

Edit: didn’t cost him

As a Tigers fan, I think Washington is managing like Yoda this series. It’s been fun to watch.

^he does some things I do not like at all. Batting Nelson Cruz 7th??

The intentional walking of Miguel Cabrera with no one on base? I’m not really a big fan of a lot of his decisions.

^and I was mad at yoda for making luke carry him around on his back and confront vader in the swamp. Samesies.

Sending that fatty Cabrera home on the fly ball was even worse. It wasn’t even close.

Ugh if this goes extra I don’t like the top of the order for the Rangers. Dangerous.

Good to see Valverde give up those runs. I don’t like the guy.

Welp, I am figuring Cruz’s 3 run homer just nailed that coffin shut. If the Tigers do come back, I come back here an eat my words…I think 4 runs in the 11th is pretty safe.

Hahaha.

Valverde and Benoit are not available today.

You always send the runner on medium+ fly balls to right. So many things have to go right, giving the offense a big enough advantage.

First OF has to make an accurate throw. Cruz has a good arm, but theres no guarentee any outfielder throws the ball to a 3x3 area where the catcher can make a play.

Second, and this is why the O has a big advantage, the catcher is not facing the runner on a throw from RF. So he has to catch the ball, block the plate, and get the tag down knowing hes is going to get blown up from the blind side. Theres a lot of moving parts that have to sync up to get an out there. The catcher has to set up before the throw reaches the plate giving the runner a chance to go inside or outside.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and Cruz could have underhanded that ball and beat cabrera but in that situation it isnt a bad call at all to send him.

Cabrera is unbearably slow but the 3b coach may get fired if he doesnt send him there.

I wanna see Verlander throw 150 pitches tonight. Would be glorious.

He’s already at ~110 through 6.

Oh shit I didn’t even realize the game is on right now. Why do they air these so early?

Probably to:

-account for rain delays

 • not have the two games overlap or at least as little as possible while maintaining high viewership

-Limiting the cancellation of episodes airing during prime time. Last night all these people were pissed because Xfactor didn’t air due to the rain delay.

CJ Wilson shits the bed…again.

Here’s hoping the Yankees or Red Sox sign him next year. LOLZ

Also East Coast = Centre of the World time
