I plan to buy Surge for my post workout shake and some Metabolic Drive for my protein shake during the day. I was wondering what you guys mix urs with, milk or water.
Metabolic Drive can be mixed with water, but if you go with milk try Hood’s low carb / low cal milk.
Surge should only be mixed with water, and shaken, not mixed in a blender.
what flavors would u recommend for Surge? I was thinking rootbeer could be good since its in water.
Rootbeer is very sweet. Depends on your taste… if you don’t like things too sweet, get the chocolate; its got some maltodextrin instead of all glucose. Otherwise, try whatever.
I prefer the chocolate over the rootbeer. It’s quite tasty.
I’ve only had the Chocolate, it’s not too bad. I think some of the newer flavors, like root beer, will be pretty tasty since it’s a “watery” drink-- not real thick like some others I had. I’d be interested to see what it taste like.
I use water for all my shakes. I’ve only had Original Surge. As for Low Carb Metabolic Drive I like Chocolate.
just wanted to say I couldn’t believe how good Surge tasted with just water in a shaker cup. I still can’t believe how much foam is created, but overall mixability and taste are top-notch.
I also supplement with a pre-workout NO/Creatine product and since starting this stack about 2 weeks back I have started gaining weight again (was static for about a month just taking Nitrix pills from bsn which are garbage), along with taking the cottage cheese/p-butter pre-bed that someone recommended here.

I think it’s probably the overly sweet taste plus the smell of the rootbeer surge that makes me was to gag. I have to hold my nose when I drink the rootbeer stuff. The chocolate on the other hand is also very sweet but tastes great. I mix mine with creatine.

I like the rootbeer and the raspberry. Both are too sweet for me to take more than one scoop though. I add a scoop of Grow! Whey instead to bump up the protein and give the Surge a creamy taste/texture.
Don’t add anything other than water to your Surge. Adding milk or other protein powders to it will make it less effective.
I will say, that out of pure curiosity/stupidity, I once mixed Surge with beer. First of all, blending beer in a blender is a good way to cover most of your kitchen with a really sticky mixture of beer and Surge. It didn’t taste that terrible. But I really didn’t feel very good about and hour later.
