Why don’t you just pull mixed grip with EVERY set? Switching so suddenly to mixed grip on heavier sets probably increases your chance to tear the bicep because of the small chance you botch your under-hand, and suddenly have 400+lbs on a bicep that was just under absolutely not stress on prior sets.
I’d pull mixed grip on all sets, and just train grip on off days.
