Anyone here from Minneapolis and it’s surrounding areas? I’m looking for a non commercial gym to go to. I’m sick of lifetime fitness and all their bullshit.
What’s wrong with Lifetime? I’m very happy with the one I go to. Then again, I’m really not a hardcore lifter (although I do deadlift and squat and stuff).
Northwest had a great selection of Olympic lift equipment while I lived in the cities. A bit spendy, but a nice place.

Which one? Lifetime took over Northwests…
Los Campeones in the Seward neighborhood is supposed to be great.
Lifetime does suck.
Although I do find it convinent to my location.
The press gym. Check it out. I think its in roseville?
Lifetime just sucks. It’s the little things that piss me off. Right now at the lifetime I attend, the drinking fountains don’t work and haven’t for a month, they have two sets of clips for 6 benches and 1, ONE squat rack, they have like 3 quad extenders and 3 ham curl machines but don’t have a t-bar row or a preacher curl bench, they’ve gotten rid of the concentional seated row and lat pull down machines. The list goes on and on.
Which one do you go to? I go to the one in Eagan, and it is pretty good. The 130s are out and so is one of the 100s (has been for a few months)and the music sucks but the iPod takes care of that. You could try Golds out in White Bear off County E just east of 61, that place is awesome and caters to real meatheads, not fitness pups.
I go to the new one in EP that used to be a flagship. It really blows and is supposed to be the ‘top tier’ facility.
there is a gym in shakopee off of 101. i don’t remember the name but its in a deserted strip mall. I haven’t been, but i remember seeing it when i was younger and it looked pretty decent. never busy.
