Minimizing The Damge Of Alcohol

Looks like I am going to get drunk today, for the first time since newyears. Grades were handed out, and some stress relief is in order. What should I do to minimize the damage to my muscles?

Probably going to be drinking a whole to a half bottle of tequila =\ depending on how late the party goes.

So 900 - 1800 calories from alcohol alone.

I was thinking I would eat glutamine and cottage cheese before hand and take a multi. Then I could take some zma, glutamine and a protein shake upon returning home, and some more zma glutamine and protein in the morning. Then probably a mid morning workout (i seem to be imune to hangovers).

Should I not eat while intoxicated? I was thinking I would munch some high protein, low f+c sources, or a protein shake or two. Hopefully staving off catabolism while burning the calories in the alcohol. Currently ~195lbs ~12% body fat.

I know drinking is this isn’t smart from the perspective of building a better body, but socially and mentally I need a release. And i figure if i am going to poison myself, i might aswell do it in the best way possible;)

Lets spew some fermented cottage cheese today! Make sure to try a max, unspotted bench press with the lights turned off. That should stave off catabolism.

Drink a half gallon of water before you go to bed and take a couple extra vitamin pills.

Just go have fun. Don’t worry about how many calories this and that or anything else. It sounds like you already are planning to get tanked so do whatever you want. I am a student also and I go out drinking, probably on average, 3 to 4 times a month. I do so on my cheat days so that helps, but I just do whatever, which is usually drink and then eat a whole pizza before bed. I know its not the best but I continue to make very good gains in the weightroom while maintaining no fat gain. And trust me, I don’t have super genetics, I am just strict every other day on my diet. Yup, I’d call it a cheat day and be done with it. Relax. That’s the whole point!

Ya, I will just do some ZMA and glutamine, and try to give away as much of my alcohol as possible to girls :wink:

I have been uber strict lately, havent cheated in more than a month, and I guess i was sort of freaking out about possible harm. Puking cottage cheese would definately suck…

I wouldn’t worry too much about drinking tequila anyway. Little to no sugar in that. Whatever carbs you take in I’m sure your burn having wild and crazy sex with college coeds. :slight_smile:

LOTS OF WATER will help if you must get tore down. It’ll dehydrate the hell out of ya and the water will help.

Drinking and thinking (re: worrying about it) is like pissing in the wind!

That’s the truth. I can testify as well that the water definitely helps. The ZMA and all that sounds like a plan too. Also, if you look it up on the net (Try Google- I can’t remember them off the top of my head) but it’ll tell you what vitamins and minerals alcohol depletes your body off. Adding in some of those couldn’t hurt a bit, I’d think.

On top of my wrestling on the weekends, Im also a bartender during the week. So, needless to say, I’ve carried on a time or two with the joy juice myself. I’ve given up on it though lately, and haven’t drank in quite awhile. 1) I’m now on 3rd week of V-Diet, and thus, couldn’t anyway. 2) After being around alcohol all the time, you start to see it in a more negative light. In the past week I’ve seen a regular come in and freak out, ramming his head into the window and telling us he should’ve killed himself years ago, and on Superbowl Sunday during our customer party some crazy broad tried to stab me. Fuckin alcohol…Killin me. Well, alcohol, or my lack of a normal job.

Question for any of the mods/staff- Before, during or after a night of drinking, how would a higher dosage of “M” and/or Alpha Male come into play? Just curious.

Water is key (I get sick if I don’t drink water with alcohol, I get so dehydrated). So are vitamins. B’s and C should help. Do some cardio the next day. Or you could just get a head start and get some drunk lovin’. Either or.
