Just thought I would share that I had listened to the Mark Bell podcast this morning which featured Mike Dolce.
A really good listen. His “common sense” approach to nutrition all makes sense.
For the past few years I have experimented with fasting, keto, carb cycling, carnivore etc etc, but after listening to this podcast I feel his approach would suit most people. Although I learnt something new with every diet I have experimented with, I think those “labels” and “fad” diets just set people up for failure.
Discuss.

Common sense isn’t very common

Yes. We all have a special ability to complicate things.

What is his “approach” readers digest version?

Could I get an expansion of this please? Aren’t macros like macronutrients anyway?
Edit: also is this more for non strength sport athletes where maintenance of muscle mass is less important or less protein required so “common sense” hits protein requirements

Probably best you just listen to the podcast. Google “Mark Bell podcast Mike Dolce”.
I think the point he was making is that some people are too focussed on hitting exact macros, while missing the micro’s, and without the micros the body cant optimally repair and perform anyway.
He also discussers how there is no “cookie cutter” approach, which is refreshing in the latest climate of social media where people are focussed on labels and very particular ways of eating.
