Michael Phelps Watch

There are many athletes who make it through the testing who are not clean, and for the most part we don’t care. Carl lewis is a great example of that. I assume they all do w/e it takes to be the best, you could assume otherwise but it makes sense they do or did take certain things to be the best-not just steroids, but stimulants ext to train as hard as they do-

Competitive sports where you are making money will never be clean, they can do as many tests as they want wont change anything. Athletes will always be a step ahead, be like thinking we can stop drugs also.

Heard that phelps is going to get about million dollars if he makes the goal of 8 golds, yet in Greece athletes get about 300k for each gold so he would have made well over 2 million if he competed for Greece. While in America we pay athletes about 20k for each gold.

There are way too many medals possible in swimming, either way he’ll probably definitely get it but his world records wont stand for very long with the new technology in swimming suits and more competetion arising.

I agree. I think they should only have one stroke. Having different strokes is like having more than one way to run - it doesn’t make sense. You should swim as fast as possible over a set distance, how you swim it shouldn’t matter.

Nice work by the US men’s 4x100m free relay team for making the French eat their words.

Why only 1 stroke? Thats stupid. Why more than 1 type of lift in weight lifting? Why more than 1 distance in track? Why different weight shotputs?

Different strokes require different skills and abilities. If anything just have a freestyle race where any stroke is legal

You have two lifts in weightlifting but still only one medal. As opposed to one person - eight medals? Seems kind of ridiculous. I would like to see any stroke, two distances, short and long.

Sorry bro, but that’s as pathetic as someone who juices and tries to compete in a natural show. It’s an unfair advantage when others are following the rules. People get dsqualified every olympics for enhancing themselves and the drug tests are extremely hard to beat. If you juice in the olympics you don’t deserve to win.

That race was epic! And I could give a fuck about swimming, but to beat a world record by 4 seconds is astonishing. [/quote]

The Canadian team beat the world record as well… but they came in 6th! Six teams beat the world record, that is how fast the pace was, incredible race!

Just saw him win another Gold for his 9th total but every time I see him I think of the opening for Old School

HES 6’3, 195lb! FROM BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, HES UGLY AS SHIT! MICHAEL PHELPS!!

makes me laugh every time. But he is the only thing that will keep us close or above China in the medal race as or right now we have 19 total 6g 6s and 7b. Chinas got 14 total but 9g 3s and 2b.

Anyone been watching the weight lifting? China has dominated the mens and women??s light weight. Xiangxiang Zhang at 123lb almost put up 405lb in the Clean&Jerk today for the world record but just missed it

It helps that China has about 900 million people under 150 pounds.

I ran my mouth before I read the thread. Somebody’s gotta be that guy, I guess.

Phelps wins another gold. USA def. Italy 12-11 in prelim waterpolo match.

They dominate gymnastics also, it helps that their entire country is basically built for those sports. It’s pretty amazing what they can do though. Everything they do they make it look way to easy also.

Thanks to swimming having a billion medal opportunities and china not being strong in swimming they will most likely not have the most medals in the end though.

Plus Softball and Mens/Wemons Beach Vallyball are all but in the bag and we should do well in girls gymnastics. Im waiting for the big boys to start lifting wights, thats should be fun to watch

Someone asked if he should bulk or cut…dude is eating 6000 calories a day. That is crazy.

Is his diet posted somewhere? That’s something I’d like to see. I guess when you swim 10 miles a day you burn a lot of calories.

He talked about it in one of those profile pieces NBC does on the athletes.

I think he said anywhere from 6K - 8K per day.

I’ve made updates at the beginning of the thread.

(By the way; his diet is mostly carbs. He eats a LOT of pizza and pasta! Believe me; the average mortal will be a blimp trying to eat the diet of a 6ft 4in, 200 plus pound Creature From the Black Lagoon!)

And he burns it all, that’s just crazy.

Also remember that Phelps has a lot of lean, metabolically active MUSCLE mass (not just “lean body weight”); with workouts and a Sport that continually stokes his metabolism.

He probably also partitions his cals toward muscle much more efficiently than the average person.

(…Bastard…!)

I can feel it…The USA has a message for the world this Olympics and that message is “FUCK YOU!”

Wait til we dominate track and field and mens basketball as well.
