Micellar Casein and Lactose

Dunno if anybody is still reading this old thread, but I hope I don’t have to open a new threat for this subject, so I will just give it a go and hope somebody can come up with the answer.

Since nobody replied i will post this here:

I have an intolerancy with lactose (sry for grammar and spelling mistakes) and reading the info on micellar casein suddenly started to sound like some serious danger to my already low level of GPP as well as my concentration or lack their off.
Any info on Grow!'s lactose concentration or micellar casein and lactose would be much appreciated.

Thx

You should be fine as this topic has been covered before and the consensus is that lactose-intolerant individuals don’t have a problem with Grow! and this includes me.

Micellar Casein and Lactose are not necessarily connected. Just because they are both in milk, doesn’t mean that you need one to have the other.

Low-Carb Grow! does NOT have lactose. If it had, it wouldn’t be Low-Carb. Lactose is a sugar - and even though it’s a complex one, it’s still a sugar. And hence a (pretty bad) carb.

Over here in the US, lactose intolerance is a big thing (for example, Asian populations are notoriously lactose intolerant, and there’s lots of Asians in the US) and there’s even lactose-free milk for sale. Yes, real milk, not that awful soy substitute, just with the lactose taken off.

What about malted-milk powder? Any lactose in that?

23andbeginner & cager, check out my reply on the Grow! thread, http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=459252

It’s at the very bottom and addresses both your questions.

Thk you people.

It’s not really like Chinatown but there is a bunch of students attending German universities from Asia, mostly Chinese.

I am still looking for the cause of my intolerance in my family tree though. There is some viking blood from about 300 years ago family name was Andersson (didn’t get any of Jon Pall Sigmarsson’s genes obviously) and a slavik influence as well. My mom is from Croatia.

We get the Lactose free milk also, but for me buying that would be like 4$ a liter. That’s like 15$ a gallon. That’s why i am fucked.

The supplement market is like that in general. You can double up whatever you guys pay and it should pretty much fit.

Let alone getting any Biotest supplements or anything like that. Hey i guess i could stock up on Grow! on Biotest’s European site located in Great Britain for an affordable ?39.99 for a 3lb container. That’s about 58 ?. That equates to a fair 75 bucks. Funny thing ist the ? is woth more than a dollar, so for me the price on this websites equates to something like 15 dollars.

That way i won’t have to worry about shipping.

Appreciate what you got. Biotest rocks.

I really only wanted to say thx for the replies.

It’s probably worth getting some mates together/saving up and getting a bulk order from this site in. It is what I have done in the past whilst in the UK. This site is almost giving their stuff away! You know this, the price difference will more than make up for it

ZMA @ Biotest US: 9USD
ZMA @ Biotest.co.uk: 43USD

Tha’s a 34USD difference on one item before shipping and import duty.

Also, lactose tolerance is the new condition. It is most widespread where cows have been farmed for the longest and of course is an inherited trait, the further east you go the lower the proportion of tolerance. Eastern Europe sees a sharp rise in percentage of INtolerant people so the Croatian decent might be the key.

Incidentally I am lactose intolerant and am able to eat Grow! and other similar products without any problems at all. I am also able to consume roughly a small glass of milk a day without any problems - most L.I. people can do this. It doesn’t sound like you do, but if you cut out the milk and are still having trouble even when mixing your shakes with water (or using lactose free milk) then you may want to consider if you have a milk protein allergy.

That will be a hard task to do. Problem is my studio is supplied by the owner’s brother and he makes his living off of that. It would be pretty mean if i got people to buy somewhere else. On the other hand i should work something out with him.

Thanks again for all the info on the subject.

I guess i don’t need to check for new allergies as i can have the glass of milk. And i am already mixing my protein with water. Of course i have my fats with that also.

Wait a second, did you say get an order in on this site with mates? The biotest support said they don’t ship to Europe? How did you pull that off?

You have to have a middleman in the states to pull that off.

I happen to know some folks.I just don’t want to ask, because they would all think i have gone nuts.
The thing is it is pretty much impossible for me to find out what that is going to cost.
I can’t just jump in and have someone figure this stuff out for me with a possibility that i will never come back to them on the subject if it happens to be too much money.

I know that a box of approximatly 18 in. x 18 in. x 18 in. would fit about 12 containers of Grow! and 6 of Surge as well as 2 Power Drive and a couple of Spike. Now that’s alot of money. I don’t know how much the taxes would be and the biggest problem is the shipping. I could find out about taxes and that.

Could anyone from this site find out what a box of the above measurements or more containing a netto weight of 45 pounds and 500$ worth of stuff would cost if you chose to send it all the way out to Hamburg Germany. And important also is there any kind of insurance for the package, if yes, what is it exactly and how much would it be with insurance vs. without.
Anybody here for work for UPS?

I will be grateful for the rest of my life if anyone could find out. For me that’s a 50$ phone call and for you the information is free. Help a poor German fellow out, please.
