Metal King Squat Suits

Hey everyone.
I need an IPF Metal KING Squatter, and I squat with my feet, JUST outside shoulderwidth.

I am not super wide (like with my feet against the sides of a powerrack) but they are still outside shoulder width.

I am currently using a titan centurion in the regular width…which I find is hard to get wide in.

So what should I get?

Regular
or V-type?

I don’t think the King comes in single ply right now. At least I don’t see it on Elite’s website. EDIT: I am wrong, they are on Metal’s site…

The v-type are supposed to be suited to wider-stance lifters, so I would go regular. Depending on how experienced with gear you are, maybe check out a viking suit.

I’m surprised you find it hard to go wide in a regular stance centurion. I squat a fair bit outside my shoulder width and I can do it no probs.

I have a regular v-type that I pull sumo in and the legs are REALLY flaired on it so I would imagine it’s more of a suit for WPO type width.

FTR, this is how wide I squat in my regular stance centurion

After training with someone different last night we have figured out that I cant get the titan seated properly, it is just wayyyyyyyyyyy to tight on the hip area.

I know the sizing charts are crap,
but I am wearing a size designed for “comp fit” for a lifter 15kgs lighter

Yah you really need to have the crotch up crazy tight or you’ll struggle to use it. I remember when I first started using mine I didn’t have it seated properly and any time I got near parrallel my hips were being kicked forward and my knees were caving.

I assume you’re using suit slippers and hanging out of something by the straps and aggresively trying to get it seated properly? Side lunges have always helped me too.

Yep, Ive tried everything, 4 super heavy lifters trying at once, a rack, baby powder, suit slippers, garbage bags…the list goes on.

Go with the King Squatter, not the V-Type. I use a regular stance centurion, wanted to switch to metal. I purchased a Viking V-Type and I hated it, sold it immediately. I also have no trouble going wider in my centurion. Hanley is right though, you need to get the legs and crotch up as far as possible or you will have some big problems!

Is the King (two-ply version) all that great. I bought a brand new Ace suit about a week or two before they started selling King. I love my Ace, but I have been curious. What the material like? Is spongy like the Ace oe old Metal Pro material, or is it more of a stiff canvas-like feel?

From what I have heard the King material is stiff, if you felt Titan’s NXG Super + material it is stiff like that. Though a lot of the multi-ply guys seem to be switching from the King Deadlifter to the Ace to pull in, so I’m not sure King material in double ply is the way to go just yet.
