Metabolic Effects of 2-a-Day Workouts

Does doing 2 workouts in one day rather than doing the same two workouts spread over 2 days have a difference metabolically?

I am interested in if there is a difference in:

  1. Net calories burned
  2. Carbs burned
  3. Overall metabolic rate

Also, I’m interested in the same question for an EDT style workout vs. a typical 24 set/rep 60 sec, rest period style workout. Any difference in:

  1. Calories burned PWO
  2. Calories burned during
  3. Carbs burned
  4. Overall metabolic rate
