Hey guys, I just received a tub of Metabolic Drive, low carb chocolate flavor. I’ve had four servings so far; even though everyone else claims to love the taste, I can’t even stomach it anymore.
Any ideas or good recipes that might make this taste better? I don’t want to waste this tub, but i don’t think i’ll be able to eat it as instructed (tried it with 8 oz. milk, and 8 oz. water - both taste bad to me). makes me want to vomit.
Ya I didn’t really like the taste - specifically the after-taste - at first, but I just upped the amount of liquid I mix it with. So for one scoop I do about 8 oz. of water or milk. Now it tastes just fine.
first, try adjusting the liquid content,… although to be honest, I can’t imagine not liking the taste. Everyone I know who doesn’t even workout and always makes faces when I whip out my trusty shaker cup always nods their head and offers the grudgingly ‘doesnt smell SO bad’ when I make them smell the Met Drive. Even my girlfriend ordered a couple of tubs for herself after staying over and putting it in her morning oatmeal with some peanut butter.
Anything (food wise) that has a partial liquid content to it can have Metabolic Drive added to it (Cottage Cheese, Yogurt, Oatmeal, etc.)
If used for meals, you could just throw some Peanut butter and Metabolic Drive in a bowl, and slowly add water until a pudding like consistency appears. (Works only with casein, for those who are wondering)

x2
I look forward to when I get to drink MD chocolate.
Like a few guys have said, increasing the water is the best bet. The 8-ounce thing is a basic guideline, but it obviously isn’t carved in stone. Of course you can play around to see what you prefer. Most of the time, I’ll use probably 16 ounces or so for one scoop, so it’s still super-thin like plain water. But at night, I might use around six ounces of water and slam it back, since I try to cut back my fluids at night.
Depending on what kind of nutrition numbers you’re looking to hit, you could play around with fruits and other goodies. Berries blend together pretty well for a chocolate-strawberry/kinda fruity flavor. Peanut butter is a natural match with chocolate. Mint extract/sugar-free syrup can be good too, if you don’t overdo it.
In the absolute worst case scenario, if this is the first time you’ve bought Metabolic Drive, you can return it through customer service. But definitely play around with some recipes and see what you like best.
I gotta say that having been first exposed to protein powder way back in 1992, I can tell you that they’ve come a hell of a long way. To hear people complain about the taste of Metabolic Drive (either the low carb, or complete versions), makes me just want to send 'em back in a time machine and let them try one of those old cardboard canisters of GNC brand ‘95% isolated soy powder’, or even Weiders ‘Mega Mass 2000’ and see how easy it is getting down, let alone how much doesn’t end up in the toilet (one way or another) within an hour.

Damn, you just reminder me of the taste of Weider Dynamic Muscle Builder!
I could have done without that prior to breakfast, Stu.
I need to edit this thread b/c I feel like a moron. I got the blue containers mix up and was drinking str whey protein.
It’s funny b/c I kept adding scoops like WTF? Don’t ask me how I got them mixed up. I have 12 blue supplement containers that all look alot alike under my desk. Got confused.
Possibly a new flavor for Tim to consider making? I’m sure someone’s bound to toss a PB FINiBAR in a blender with Choc Met Drive at some point just to see what the result is.

I’ve always thought that a Metabolic Drive Cookie Dough Bar blended in Metabolic Drive Low-Carb Chocolate would be good, but I’m not sure my blended is strong enought make it happen.
