MET-RX WSM 2007

1st place Pudzianowski(Poland),2nd Wenta(Poland)and in 3rd Hollands(UK)
Pudzianowski already won the 2007 MET-Rx Worldâ¿¿s Strongest Man contest, but the remaining podium positions came down to the last event, the Atlas Stones.

Sebastian Wenta won the stones, giving him second place overall, and Terry Hollands was second in the stones, giving him third place in WSM 2007. Phil Pfister came in 4th .

it still surprises me that Dominic Filuo(spelling?) of Canada doesn’t win this every year with ease, the guy is 6’7" and 430, strong as hell in other competitions, but shows up at WSM and falls on his ass. Besides that I can’t wait for New Years to see the competition! Any idea where it was held this year and where it will be next year?

I just got back from watching the finals, it was pretty damn cool experience. Marsuiz is a awesome athlete, he did the car walk which was 20 or 25 meters in 14.5 seconds! Hollands got 2nd in that event with a time 19.5 seconds or so… Insane.

This year it was in Anaheim , Cal . Next year is yet to be determined but it would be nice to see it in Iceland . I too agree w/ you regarding Filou .

The sheer size is his limiting factor - greater work must be performed (greater distance to move a fixed load over)… and I remember in WSM 2006 his fingers and hands were simply to damn large to get under and manipulate the stones for the over head press.

Actually its not been in Iceland OR the UK for years and years no. I think both would be great venues, and of course, the Husafell stone can come into play if in Iceland.

IFSA Worlds was in Iceland last year, just fyi… The venue wasn’t very cool though as it was held inside an aluminum plant or something.

I was thinking more along the lines of the WSM competition on 1992. Aluminium plant - errrm. Ill pass. lol/

I agree with you, I like the events IFSA has more for the most part but the TV production/Vernues are much better for Met-RX Worlds. After watching it over this weekend there is ALOT that goes into the TV production.

Yeah I am making sure to go to the Arnold next year.

BTW, Where do you find all the cool strongman pics?

I am pretty sure that picture of Magnus is from '03 in Zambia when they didn’t allow tacky on the stones. Magnus dropped the first stone but recovered quickly and tore through the rest and still took first in the stones, truly awesome perormance.

Am I right?

The Ironmind site is best for random strongman pics. I have a fair collection of strength athletes, male and female - not just strongmen. There are several sites i seemed to stumble on those rather than find them purposely.

The only guy I struggle to find decent pictures of is Savikas, which is a shame as he’s number 1 in my eyes.

Ahola is probably an all time favourite. What about yourself?

Ahola is probably my favorite as well, along with Kaz, Jon Pall, etc…

Watching Ahola work for WSM last week you can tell the guy just has an insane work ethic. He is alot smaller and had a full beard going, still not small though, I think he is working on a new movie.

I have always been a fan of the shorter smaller framed strongmen. Like Jarek Dymek, I am a big time fan of Dymek now as on Saturday he sat at the table next to me during lunch and I had a very cool conversation with him.

Ive found some decent pictures of Savickas, here are a ton of photos from IFSA Worlds earlier this month I saw posted on another website.
