Ok so I have devised a plan to mess with the credit card companies. You know how they send out way too many offers in the mail? I myself have them come in almost every day. So open the offer, rip up all the paper inside and rip up the envelope that it was shipped in, stuff them into the return envelope, and mail it back.
They will have to pay for the shipping and deal with recycling the paper, thus hurting them financially and sending them a message.
There are a couple ways you can do it. Leave your name and address intact so they know who sent it back possibly making it so they stop sending you offers, or remove your name and address so they don’t know who sent it back, this way they will continue to send them to you and you can keep kicking them in the nuts.
How about adding other things to the envelope so it costs even more to ship back. Maybe some dirt, some extra junk mail. Old magazines cut up, whatever it takes to make that thing expensive to ship back. Anyways, What you guys think? Good Idea?
I used to work at a company (not credit cards - medical supplies) where people would occasionally do this. I heard stories about customer service receiving return envelopes with pages from porn mags inside, and one time someone mailed back a piece of 2x4 board to which he had taped the business reply mail address. That one actually got saved as a souvenir, LOL.
Funny, but it’s not going to send anyone a message except to the lowly employee that opens it up. Credit card companies aren’t going to be affected by a few cents or dollars.

Have faith, It feels good, doesn’t take much time and if it does catch on as a “movement” then a few cents or dollars multiplied by millions WILL get some attention.
Hey, in towns like mine where we have to pay to have our trash hauled away, every little bit helps. If I send all my junk mail back to them in their own envelopes, that make it so it doesn’t go in my trash and I have to pay to get rid of it.

Polo SHHHHHHHH! Do you get paid to be a teacher? No, didn’t think so, so stop teachin people stuff.
You can also go to https://www.optoutprescreen.com and remove yourself from receiving pre-approved credit offers in the mail.
I did it years ago and it works. Not only does it cut down the junk mail quite a lot, it also lowers your chance of being the victim of identity theft.
Or you can go with the Operation Mayhem method Vegita suggests. But then again, the first rule of Operation Mayhem is that you don’t talk about Operation Mayhem. This post may be a violation of that rule. Shhh

Haha no no I’m only messing with you. I think it’s totally called for. I mean in all likleyhood they guy probably takes his trash out and grumbles because some “city folk” are getting thier trash taken out for free. LOL
I actually just sent Capital One an advertisement for some golf clubs and some coupons for Valentine’s Day roses. Oh, and a Domino’s party deal. I figured they might want a pizza party at work.

I know you were messing with me V; I was being (kinda) serious though … but you’re right he probably does grumble about it “Oh this town gets theirs picked up for free” … I wonder though if he has the option of taking his own trash to the dump and saving the dough he pays for the private company to pick it up … I’d be into that

Stoneham charges extra taxes. Even better is Malden. Gotta love the Malden Trash Bag Tax, where if you don’t buy and use the city’s trash bags, they just throw your trash back on your lawn.

Actually, further west, near Worcester. And, yes, I do realize that everyone pays for trash removal in their taxes. We actually voted to have our taxes increased years ago to take care of it. But the Green Police decided we weren’t paying enough and put the Bag Tax on top of the taxes we already pay. My only point was if they want to send me junk mail, then I can just send it back to them. And the post office is happy because they get to collect the postage from the envelopes from the companies. Just think it’s a fun idea. I know the card companies will care less about it, but at least it will make us feel better to think we are doing something to hurt them.
i keep sending them hand drawn penises. but taping it to something sounds pretty good. if you cut out the return address and the priority first class stamp and tape it to something, will the USPS mail it?
What you guys haven’t realized is the ultimate ending to a great revenge scheme. Not only should you stuff the envelopes with tons of coupons but also add pennies for extra weight. When they find money they will have to call you. When they do and ask about the coupons and the money start yelling about how you didn’t mean to put the pennies in their and demand reimbursement. They will send you a check.
