I wouldn’t mind looking like them?
I just see these guys walking around like this all the time, just need to do a few push-ups and 4-min abs really
Its a model search. U mirin?
There were a few bodybuilders who competed in both the physique division and the bodybuilding competition at the last show I attended. I don’t really have an issue with it since the guys at that show were in great shape and they still gave first place to the guy who had the most balanced physique.
It was kind of silly just seeing guys doing quarter turns and not hitting any poses though. That’s what I love about bodybuilding. Tons of people think all you need to do is get ripped and flex your muscles on stage. They don’t realize the amount of practice and actual conditioning it takes to hit poses, hold them, breath properly, show strengths, and hide weaknesses.
Shit, head to the rate my physique forum and nearly every single guy who doesn’t compete is told he needs to “work on his lats”. It’s not because these guys don’t have a thick/wide back, it’s because they don’t know how to pose properly and bring the lats out, especially on the front/rear double bicep pose.

Sorry about that lol. I was just going straight off what the other guy said…
AND WHERE THE FUARK HAVE YOU BEEN???
So OP, how’s this thread working out for you? Turns out these guys are bigger and leaner than the majority of the population of a serious weightlifting board and many of us would be pretty happy to look like them.
EDIT: ^^^seconding Ahu, where u been ANM?

I’m inclined to think it’s all about the revenue. The more possible categories, the more entrants. Sure most guys won’t be too into this, feeling less threatened in rooting for a giant beast like Cutler than someone who’d be on the cover of a fitness mag, but I’m sure the women will dig it just like the guys like the figure girls.

IMO figure girls are a bunch of bunk. I think they detract from a lot of bodybuilding just because there are so many entrants. I see this going the wrong way in as far as the Mens Physique Division goes. Granted, lots of people put in the hard work and are dedicated to dieting and hours of training that goes into building a descent body; however, bodybuilding is taking a hind seat to this more amateurish style of competition.
I can’t give bodybuilders and fitness competitors the real respect they deserve, because they put in the time. The dieting, the training, the hours of posing or routines. For these other Fitness Competitors I think a lot of them just want to be in the limelight and so they come out of the wood work trying to get themselves on stage. Some are deserving…others, eh, not so much. So adding this next category in the realm of bodybuilding competitions which may be advantages for the female crowd and the show hosts is not a great deal for bodybuilding in general.
Perhaps if they went back to the older standards of bodybuilding where you were rated differently as compared to just having a board short beach show.

The guy in the pic you posted formerly competed as a BBer, as did the majority of guys in the new physique division. Just wanted to put that out there.

yes i am agree with your statement here and you are 100 percent right now
This is apparently their goal body. Is there something wrong with that?
Is everyone not entitled to look the way they want without ridicule?

You guys can call them what you like, I’m teasing more than anything else…I’m 48 years old so my shorts stop above the knee, I wear a belt if my pants have loops, and I don’t wear socks with my sandels. LOL

It’s weird, every one of their physiques is better than yours.

What is happening to the NPC that they introduced a mens physique division…? It seems to be a division for people who want to be bodybuilders but do not want to put in the work. It should be called Mens mediocre division
Call it what you will and on some level I agree with you, but for guys like me who stand at 6’1" and 193lbs at 10% with a cursed set of ecto-like genes for building thick mass, a physique division is much more feasible to succeed in as a competitor vs traditional bodybuilding. I will however maintain my respect and fascination of bodybuilding without question! I just like the idea of a more feasible division for guys like myself.

Lol x2 - cause these guys just look like such shit and are obviously mediocre and don’t train/diet hard. /sarcasm…

Here’s the deal…
Anyone who possesses 200-215 lbs of LEAN BODY MASS is WAY bigger than 99% of the population and just about as much as anyone posting on this site, or any other “bodybuilding site” for that matter.
These physique models are carrying a very respectable amount of lean weight and are impressive. Getting to that level of conditioning anywhere north of 175-180 lbs requires a lot of work. Yes, almost all of them are “naturally lean and muscular”, but not to the point of the what their physiques are showing in these contests, that requires a lot of dedication.
On a personal note…I’ve dieted down to about 205 lbs of lean body mass at one point (212 bodyweight)…was just under 3% body fat, and I looked huge next to an average guy, and even those who consider themselves “hardcore” bodybuilders. I was (and still am compared to some) tiny, compared to a seasoned vet of bodybuilding in the larger weight classes, but in regards to this site…top 1%, even at that weight.
Fact is, these sites are platforms for opinions, more than anything. Most people’s opinions don’t mean shit, and are full of contempt and jealousy. That’s why it seems everyone has something negative to say about someone else’s physique…they’re not happy with their own, so they tear others down to make themselves feel better, or justify their own lack of progress.
However, bodybuilding/physique training is a highly emotional and visually based arena. It’s based purely on critique and judgement. Part of the reason it’s so great, and sadly, a large part of the reason, it’s so cynical.
The intelligent ones immersing themselves in this lifestyle, possess, both the common sense and maturity to know the difference. Not surprisingly, these are the guys who hang around for the long haul, while the others fall to the wayside.
QFT. Damn that was a great post.

I could be wrong but i think you guys misinterpreted his post. I think he meant to write “dumb” OP, therefore actually agreeing with the sentiments of everyone else in this thread… Also his “nice physiques” statements seemed genuine… I could be wrong though.
